KWASU approves funds for two satellite campuses

The Kwara State Government has approved funds for the two satellite campuses of the Kwara State University located at Osi in Ekiti and Ilesha-Baruba in Baruten Local Government Areas of the State. The Commissioner for Tertiary Education, Ibrahim Suleman disclosed this in a statement on Monday.

In a statement signed by Press Secretary of the Ministry,Monsura Amuda-Kannike, the Commissioner has directed the contractor handling the projects to resume work at both sites immediately. Mr. Suleman also urged the contractor to display high level of professionalism and ensure usage of quality materials that will stand the test of time.

Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof. Muhammed Akanbi, applauded the State Governor, Mallam Abdulrahaman Abdulrazaq for approving the completion of the two campuses, describing the approval as a thing of joy to both staff and students of the institution.

Furthermore, he explained that the two other campuses; Osi and Ilesha-Baruba-, when completed, would give the University enough opportunity to expose students to a of the state-of-the-art facilities that will aid effective teaching and learning in the 21st century.

In his words, “The contractors have promised to move back to site on Wednesday 9th March 2022 and complete the two satellite campuses within the specifications of 8 to 10 months.”
