Female Student Murdered in Cold Blood by Jilted Lover.
A Student of the Institute of Health Technology, University of Benin Teaching Hospital, 24-year-old Precious Ikpikhum has been murdered by her 27 year old boyfriend, John Aipoh, after she called off their four-years relationship.
In a voice message Precious sent to one of her friends, she was heard saying: “She feared John might kill her for ending their relationship, and told her friend that John should be held responsible should anything happen to her.“
She was said to have gone underground after calling off the relationship, but was however traced by John and ambushed on the 1st of May, 2022, while she was on her way to church.
Following Precious disappearance, a manhunt was launched for John and he was eventually found and arrested. During interrogation, John who was found with the phone of the deceased, confessed to the crime saying he ambushed her while she was going to church, took her to an uncompleted building, and strangled her with her scarf out of anger for ending their relationship.
The suspect led the police to the site where the lifeless body of Precious was retrieved and taken to the morgue.
