It was further amended as Edo University Iyamho (Amendment Law 2016). The University was accorded recognition and issued license by the National Universities Commission on 23<sup>rd<\/sup>\u00a0March, 2016, as the 41<sup>st<\/sup>\u00a0State owned University and 142<sup>nd<\/sup>\u00a0University in Nigeria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"428\" height=\"118\" src=\"https:\/\/presspay.ng\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/Edo-State-University.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-12562\" srcset=\"https:\/\/presspay.ng\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/Edo-State-University.png 428w, https:\/\/presspay.ng\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/Edo-State-University-300x83.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 428px) 100vw, 428px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Edo State University Uzairue is a fee-paying institution of world\u2013class standard. The purpose for establishing the University is to meet the increasing demands for quality tertiary education in Edo State in particular and Nigeria in general. The Edo State Government also realised that developing human capital through quality education is the key to meaningful development of the State, hence the need to establish a University that will provide quality education. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The University is also expected to propel social, economic, political, cultural, scientific and industrial growth of the State and Nigeria. The establishment of theEdo State University Uzairue will equally increase access to tertiary education for Edo State citizens and other Nigerians.
