In the last round (application for 2020 entrance) each Graduate School was allowed to nominate at most one applicant, and the University of Tokyo was allowed to nominate at most three applicants to MEXT.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Value of Award:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Allowance<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Traveling Costs<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>School Fees<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Duration of Award:<\/strong>&nbsp;For a recipient who will enroll in a Master\u2019s Program or Doctoral Program, the scholarship will be payable for the standard period of time necessary for the recipient to complete his or her program (standard course term), starting from October 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Master\u2019s Program = October, 2024 \u2013 September, 2026 (2years)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Doctoral Program = October, 2024 \u2013 September, 2027 (3years)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Required Documents<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>To apply, candidates must be ready to submit the following documents;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Letter of recommendation from \u201cdean or above\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This letter must fulfill all of the following conditions:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The name of the addressee stated in the letter must be&nbsp;\u201cthe President of the University of Tokyo\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The letter must be printed on your university\u2019s letterhead.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The letter must be written by and signed by a&nbsp;dean or above. Digital signature is not acceptable.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Method of Application<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Application Instructions<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Applicants must submit the required documents for MEXT Scholarship after completing their admission application for entering the Master\u2019s\/Doctoral Program, following the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.s.u-tokyo.ac.jp\/en\/admission\/graduate.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">\u201cInstructions for International Students applying to the Graduate School of Science (Special Selection for International Applicants)\u201d<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>These documents must be written in either Japanese or English. They must be created in A4 format using software such as MS Word and must be printed double-sided (duplex printing). A document written in any other language must be accompanied with a Japanese translation.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Submitted documents will not be returned.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>An application passed the submission deadline is not acceptable.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>An application will not be considered unless all application forms and necessary documents are completed correctly and all accompanying documents are complete.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In some countries, a graduation certificate and other documents are issued by a government administrative office. In this case, the University of Tokyo may need to confirm with a student\u2019s previous university that the certificate issued contains no erroneous information.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Applicants must submit the required documents to apply for the MEXT Scholarship&nbsp;after applying for admission&nbsp;to the Graduate School of Science (Master\u2019s\/Doctoral Program). For an application to count, both MEXT scholarship application and the Graduate School of Science admission application must be completed before the application deadline through the respective online forms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Electronic Application<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To submit the electronic application, applicants must upload all application documents through the designated application form, as instructed below, before the application deadline.
