Applications will be considered for the following two scholarship opportunities:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>AGCAE Doctoral Scholarships:<\/strong>&nbsp;Full-time doctoral scholarships valued at R250&nbsp;000 per year for three years.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>AGCAE Master\u2019s Scholarships:<\/strong>&nbsp;Full-time masters scholarships valued at R150&nbsp;000 per year for two years.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The application deadline is the 22nd of September 2023\u00a0and the\u00a0new intake of full-time candidates will commence their studies in Stellenbosch on the 15th\u00a0of January 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Requirements:<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A candidate must meet the minimum criteria for admission to a PhD programme at Stellenbosch University. This requires a master\u2019s degree in a relevant discipline for PhD applications.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A candidate must meet the minimum criteria for admission to a Master\u2019s programme at Stellenbosch University. This requires an honours degree in a relevant discipline for Master\u2019s applications.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The scholarships are open to South African citizens and African foreign nationals. Preference will be given to previously disadvantaged South African and African foreign national citizens.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Candidates must have achieved a minimum mark of:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>70% in their master\u2019s programmes to be eligible for the AGCAE Doctoral Scholarships.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>70%&nbsp;in their honours\u2019 programmes&nbsp; to be eligible for the AGCAE Master\u2019s Scholarships.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Only applications in one of the AGCAE\u2019s 2023 AGCAE research themes&nbsp;will be considered.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>There are limited scholarships available.&nbsp; Submission of an application, even if you meet all of the criteria, does not guarantee funding.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The final allocation of scholarships is made at the discretion of the AGCAE and is subject to funding availability; and whether the Faculty is able to appoint a suitable supervisor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>AGCAE reserves the right to not award any scholarships.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Duration and Reward<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>The\u00a0AGCAE is currently accepting applications for its full-time, funded doctoral and masters research programmes. This evidence must accompany your application and must not be older than 24 months from the date of application.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Method of Application<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Follow these steps to apply for the 2024&nbsp;cohort of the AGCAE.&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>1. Ensure that you meet the eligibility criteria before you submit an application.&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>2. Download and complete either&nbsp;the&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.sun.ac.za\/english\/faculty\/economy\/gem\/Documents\/AGCEA_2024-PhD_Application.docx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">PhD Application Form<\/a>\u200b&nbsp;or the&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.sun.ac.za\/english\/faculty\/economy\/gem\/Documents\/AGCEA_2024-Masters_Application.docx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Master\u2019s application form<\/a>\u200b\u200b<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00b7You will be required to write a letter motivating your suitability for the scholarship (maximum length: one A4 page), as well as a research concept note\u00a0(no maximum length) on\u00a0a research topic which you intend to study during your doctoral studies.
