The training programme is available in 5 languages and fellows are trained together allowing them to participate actively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Details<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The aim of the program is to provide Indigenous Peoples with the opportunity to learn about the work of UN institutions and mechanisms that deal with human rights in general and Indigenous Peoples\u2019 issues in particular. Participants who complete the internship will be able to better assist their organizations and communities in protecting and promoting their rights. The 4 weeks fellowship programmed for the summer of 2024 will be available in 5 languages: English, Spanish, French, Russian and Portuguese.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Benefits<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A return flight ticket from Geneva<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Living Expenses<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Basic health insurance<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Eligibility Criteria<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>To be considered for the OHCHR Indigenous Fellowship 2024, applicants must meet the following requirements:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The candidate must be indigenous (non-indigenous persons will not be taken into consideration, even if they have close links with indigenous communities and\/or organizations).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Age should not be a limitation to participation in the programme.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Formal education should not be a limitation to participation in the IFP given the socio-economic barriers confronted by many indigenous peoples that limit access to formal educational institutions.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Candidates should agree to train other indigenous persons after the return to their respective communities\/organizations.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The candidate should be proposed, and his\/her candidacy supported by his\/her indigenous organization and\/or community. It is desirable that the sponsoring organization has a firm constituency or membership and that it is representative.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The candidate should have a good working knowledge of the language in which the programme is imparted.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Application Procedures<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>How-to-Apply:&nbsp;<\/strong>Interested applicants for the OHCHR Indigenous Fellowship 2024 are encouraged to send their&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ohchr.org\/sites\/default\/files\/documents\/issues\/indigenouspeoples\/ifp\/IFP-Applicationform-2024-EN.doc\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">application form<\/a>&nbsp;before the deadline.
