Prudential Emerging Visionaries is a national recognition program that awards young people who are leading innovative projects to address financial or societal challenges in their communities.\u00a0<strong>We\u2019re accepting applications until November 2, 2023.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Prudential Emerging Visionaries is a national recognition program that awards young people for their innovative solutions to financial and societal challenges in their communities. An Emerging Visionary is a changemaker\u2014a young person with a bold vision for impact and a project to make it happen.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here&#8217;s how it works: From now through November 2, 2023, we&#8217;re accepting applications from young leaders aged 14-18 who demonstrate commitment to solving financial and societal challenges in their communities and beyond. If selected, you may qualify for up to $15,000 in awards, an all-expenses-paid trip with your parent or guardian to Prudential\u2019s headquarters in Newark, New Jersey, and coaching and skills development to help take your innovative solution to the next level.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Emerging Visionaries is presented by Prudential Financial in partnership with Ashoka, a leading organization in the social impact sector, with advisory support from the Financial Health Network.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Eligibility\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Participants must meet the following eligibility criteria:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Participants must be individuals between the ages of 14 &#8211; 18 when applying and not older than 18 by the end of the entry period (November 2, 2023). Groups and partners are not eligible.\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Participants must be legal residents of the United States or Puerto Rico.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Participants must have started their project on or before June 1, 2023.\u202f\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Winners\u00a0must\u00a0bring one chaperone to the\u00a0in-person\u00a0event\u00a0on April 20-23, 2024.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>One application per person.\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Applications must be submitted in English.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Prudential Emerging Visionaries and Prudential Spirit of Community National Honorees and State Honorees are NOT eligible to apply.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Employees and their children and grandchildren of Prudential, Ashoka, Financial Health Network, or its affiliates\u202fand participating advertising and promotion agencies are NOT eligible to apply.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Evaluation Criteria\u00a0<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The selection committee will be looking for changemakers who provide strong answers to a range of questions about what your initiative does, how it runs, and your changemaking story.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Entries will be evaluated on the following criteria:\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Innovation<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013\u00a0<strong><em>Are you\u00a0thinking innovatively<\/em>\u00a0<\/strong>to<strong>\u00a0<em>build\u00a0financial health and resiliency<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0or to\u00a0<strong><em>solve social issues<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0within your community? \u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Potential to Scale<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013\u00a0Do you have a\u00a0<em><strong>vision for the future?<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0Will this innovation\u00a0<em><strong>create meaningful impact<\/strong><\/em>, and does it have the ability to\u00a0<em><strong>scale even beyond your own community<\/strong><\/em>?\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Connection<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013\u00a0Do\u00a0you show a deep\u00a0<em><strong>understanding of a problem<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0or barrier you are trying\u00a0to solve, and do you have a deep\u00a0<strong><em>connection to the community<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0you\u00a0are bringing\u00a0your\u00a0solution to?\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Changemaker Quality<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013\u00a0Are you passionate about\u00a0<em><strong>making a change for the good of all<\/strong><\/em>, ready to\u00a0<em><strong>show leadership or take action<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0to solve a problem, and looking to activate others?\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition to our evaluation criteria described above,\u00a0winners\u00a0will be selected to represent the diversity of applications received. Diversity can be showcased in the target audience of a project, its partners, or the individual or team representing it. Diversity will refer to: gender, accessibility, ethnicity, race,\u00a0age, and geography.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Awards<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>All eligible participants will receive:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Peer feedback via the program&#8217;s\u00a0online platform, including the opportunity to view, review, and connect with other Prudential Emerging Visionaries applicants and their submissions.\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Access\u00a0on-demand trainings to support you in your changemaking journey.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A digital certificate of participation.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The chance to be selected for one of\u00a0two\u00a0(2)\u00a0Early Entry Awards\u00a0($1,000 each) if\u00a0your\u00a0application is submitted by\u00a0Thursday, September 28, 2023, at 11:59 PM ET.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Winners will receive:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A cash award\u00a0of up to $15,000, awarded as follows:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>25 winners will receive $5,000 each \u2014 20 of these winners will be selected from the Societal Solutions category and five\u00a0winners from the Financial Solutions category.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The five\u00a0winners from the Financial Solutions category will be invited to join a pitch-off at the Prudential Emerging Visionaries Awards Summit at Prudential&#8217;s headquarters. From there, one Financial Solutions Grand Prize Winner will receive an additional $10,000 award, for a total of $15,000.\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>One winner from\u00a0either category will also receive the Prudential Employees&#8217; Choice Award\u2014an additional $5,000, to be awarded at the Prudential Emerging Visionaries Awards Summit at Prudential&#8217;s headquarters. Note: The Financial Solutions Grand Prize Winner is not eligible to win the Prudential Employees\u2019 Choice Award.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>All 25 winners will receive an all-expenses-paid trip with a parent or guardian to Prudential\u2019s headquarters in Newark, New Jersey from April 20-23, 2024, for the Prudential Emerging Visionaries Awards Summit.
