networks of influence and leadership by strengthening partnerships between Australian organisations and partner organisations in the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Fellowships target senior and mid-career officials and professionals who are in a position to advance development outcomes in priority areas and increase the institutional capacity of partner countries through their leadership.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Through Australia Awards Fellowships, Australian organisations can apply for funding to host and support a range of professional development activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Requirements:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>be a minimum of 18 years of age at the time of commencing the Fellowship<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>not be a permanent resident or be applying for permanent residency in Australia or partner of someone who is<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>be a citizen of an eligible country<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>not be current serving military personnel<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>be able to satisfy all requirements of the Department of Home Affairs for (DFAT sponsored) student visas subclass 500<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>be able to participate in the Fellowship.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>be able to travel without family members as DFAT will only fund and provide visa support letters for individual Fellows, not their family members<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Fellows with a disability that requires assistance must travel with a career<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Duration and Reward<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>For the Australia Awards Fellowship, Australian organisations can request funding of up to AUD $34,500 per Fellow, to a maximum of 15 Fellows to cover:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>return air travel and relevant in-Australia travel<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>training costs<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>accommodation and living expenses<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>medical insurance costs when in Australia (for Fellowship holder only)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>special assistance for people with disability<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>program overhead fee.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Countries &amp; Area of Interest<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"participating-countries\">Participating Countries for the Australia Awards Fellowship<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Southeast Asia<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao People\u2019s Democratic Republic, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Thailand, Timor-Leste and Vietnam<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>South Asia and Middle East<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Iraq, Jordan, Maldives, Mongolia, Nepal, Pakistan, Palestinian Territories and Sri Lanka<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Pacific<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Federated States of Micronesia, Fiji, Kiribati, Marshall Islands, Nauru, Palau, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Tuvalu, Vanuatu and Wallis and Futuna<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Africa<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Botswana, Democratic Republic of Congo, Egypt, Ghana, Kenya, Madagascar, Malawi, Mauritius, Morocco, Mozambique, Namibia, Nigeria, Rwanda, Senegal, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, Zimbabwe<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Europe<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ukraine<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Please note: Proposals for Brunei Darussalam, New Caledonia, French Polynesia and Singapore will not be considered in Round 19.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"priority-areas\"><strong>Priority Areas<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Fellowship programs must align with the following six development priority areas:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Climate change, adaptation, resilience and&nbsp;green energy transition<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Gender equality, disability equity and social inclusion<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Health<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Digital Economy (including cyber, critical technology and media engagement)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Maritime and the Blue Economy<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Infrastructure and connectivity<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Method of Application<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Applications for Australia Awards Fellowship ROUND 19 are now open and must be submitted ONLINE via&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/fellowships.smartygrants.com.au\/\"
