This award is&nbsp;<strong>presented every two years<\/strong>&nbsp;on the occasion of the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry \u2013 International Conference on Organic Synthesis (IUPAC\u2013ICOS).&nbsp;It includes an&nbsp;<strong>award of \u20ac5,000<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>General Principles<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The 2024 prize will be awarded to a scientist who must be no older than 42 years of age on Jan. 1, 2024.<strong>&nbsp;This means that all candidates who would have been eligible for the 2022 Prize, which was suspended due to Covid, will be considered eligible for the 2024 Thieme-IUPAC Prize.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The candidate\u2019s research must have had a major impact in synthetic organic chemistry.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The prize will be awarded based on scientific merit for independent research dealing with synthesis in the broadest context of organic chemistry, including organometallic chemistry, medicinal and biological chemistry.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Nomination<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Proposals must be accompanied by:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>a biographical sketch of the nominee<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>a list of the candidate\u2019s ten most significant publications<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>a statement of how the candidate\u2019s research has had a major impact on the field of synthetic organic chemistry<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The material will be confidentially forwarded to an independent selection committee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Deadline<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Nomination materials should be submitted by e-mail to&nbsp;<a href=\"mailto:marcus.white@thieme.de\">marcus.white@thieme.de<\/a>&nbsp;by&nbsp;<strong>December 15, 2023<\/strong>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Thieme Group in collaboration with IUPAC and the Editors of SYNTHESIS, SYNLETT, SYNFACTS, and Science of Synthesis announce the&nbsp;Thieme-IUPAC<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":15711,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"colormag_page_container_layout":"default_layout","colormag_page_sidebar_layout":"default_layout","footnotes":""},"categories":[49],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-15708","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-education"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.3 -
