{"id":16038,"date":"2023-10-27T14:14:04","date_gmt":"2023-10-27T14:14:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/presspay.ng\/news\/?p=16038"},"modified":"2023-10-27T14:14:07","modified_gmt":"2023-10-27T14:14:07","slug":"2024-india-africa-security-fellowship-programme-for-african-scholars","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/presspay.ng\/news\/2024-india-africa-security-fellowship-programme-for-african-scholars\/","title":{"rendered":"2024 India-Africa Security Fellowship Programme For African Scholars"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>About<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>India-Africa Security Fellowship Programme invites applications for Fellows from Africa to interact with India\u2019s research community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The fellowship is to also pursue research on topics that may enhance our understanding of security challenges in Africa or possibilities of enhancing India- Africa Security cooperation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The fellowship is an opportunity to enhance our mutual research capacities on strategic issues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Details:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>India-Africa Security Fellowship Fellows would be attached with MP-IDSA for a period of 1-3 months on a full-time basis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>During the course of the fellowship, Fellows would be required to produce an Occasional Paper or a joint research publication with a MP-IDSA scholar as co-authors.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Alternatively, the fellows could produce original high quality articles (4000-6000 words) which may be presented during a Fellows\u2019 Seminar at the institute and will then be reviewed for publication in MP-IDSA\u2019s flagship journal \u201cStrategic Analysis\u201d.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Fellows may also write at least one commentary for online publication on the MP-IDSA website.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Requirements:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Scholars and researchers from reputed universities, think tanks, government officials, defence services officers and persons of eminence are welcome to apply.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Duration and Reward<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>India-Africa Security Fellowship will offer residential accommodation, office space, internet connectivity and other support facilities. A Fellowship amount of Rs. 50,000\/- per month along with economy class airfare will be provided to the Fellows.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Method of Application<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Interested applicants in the India-Africa&nbsp;Security Fellowship may send an 800-word research proposal indicating the relevance of the proposal to the aims of the fellowship program, benefit to the institute, host (MP-IDSA), time-frame and the end product.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A 500-word statement of purpose indicating how the scholar will benefit from the Fellowship.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Updated resume<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Two published papers as writing samples<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Two letters of reference (professional\/academic)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Completed applications must be sent by post or email, at least three months prior to intended date of start of fellowship to \u201cThe Director-General, Manohar Parrikar Institute for Defence Studies and Analyses (MP-IDSA)\u201d,&nbsp;<a href=\"mailto:dg.idsa@nic.in\">dg.idsa@nic.in<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Candidates would require a research visa for the duration of the Fellowship. If accepted, MP-IDSA will provide a letter of affiliation to enable this process.
