{"id":16270,"date":"2023-11-03T13:56:52","date_gmt":"2023-11-03T13:56:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/presspay.ng\/news\/?p=16270"},"modified":"2023-11-03T13:56:55","modified_gmt":"2023-11-03T13:56:55","slug":"call-for-application-amr-advocacy-photo-contest","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/presspay.ng\/news\/call-for-application-amr-advocacy-photo-contest\/","title":{"rendered":"Call for Application: AMR Advocacy Photo Contest"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>About<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The annual International Conference on Public Health in Africa (CPHIA) provides a unique African-led platform for leaders across the continent to reflect on lessons learned in health and science and align on a way forward for creating more resilient health systems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Expanding the horizons of the conference once again, CPHIA 2023 will showcase how the continent is breaking down barriers, reaffirming Africa as a powerhouse in science and innovation, generator of new knowledge and health products, and exemplar of progress.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As African countries accelerate the realization of a New Public Health Order, this year\u2019s conference will help to build a healthier, more prosperous Africa \u2013 for the continent, and the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As part of its activities, Africa CDC is promoting artistic expression in a variety of formats, including photography, by launching an AMR photo competition called \u201cAMR advocacy in photos\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" type=\"1\" start=\"1\">\n<li><strong>Theme of the photo contest<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Preventing Antimicrobial resistance together<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Description: A captivating photograph(s) that&nbsp;illustrates the collaborative relationship between humans, animals, and the environment in preventing antimicrobial resistance, emphasizing the interconnection of our well-being, which collectively contributes to maintaining&nbsp;our health.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" type=\"1\" start=\"2\">\n<li><strong>Eligibility and submission criteria<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>a)<\/strong>&nbsp;<strong>Eligibility<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The contest is open to students across Africa aged between 18 to 30 years old.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>b) Submission<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Formats for the photographs are the following: jpg, tiff, png, psd, bmp. Files must not be over 10 MB.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The following information must be provided in a word format:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Author\u2019s name<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Date of the photograph<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Place of the photograph (Location, Country)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Title of the photograph<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Accompanying text explaining the nature of the photograph and how it relates to AMR Side event theme (100 words)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" type=\"1\" start=\"3\">\n<li><strong>Evaluation area<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Quality of the photo<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Emotion<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Story telling<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Relation to the main theme of the event.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" type=\"1\" start=\"4\">\n<li><strong>Selection Process<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>The selection will be done in two steps.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><u>1<sup>st<\/sup>&nbsp;Phase: 1 winner per Region<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This stage will consist of electing the regional winners for the 5 regions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><u><sup>&nbsp;<\/sup><\/u><\/strong><strong><u>2<sup>nd<\/sup>&nbsp;Phase: The continental winner.<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This stage will consist of electing the continental winner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><u>Judge committee<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1<sup>st<\/sup>&nbsp;phase: The application will be judged by the Africa CDC communication experts in collaboration with an independent body of adjudicators in the field of AMR.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2<sup>nd<\/sup>&nbsp;phase: The application will be judged by the Africa CDC communication experts in collaboration with an independent body of adjudicators in the field of AMR.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" type=\"1\" start=\"5\">\n<li><strong>Awards<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>&nbsp;1<sup>st<\/sup>&nbsp;phase<\/strong>: All the 1<sup>st<\/sup>&nbsp;phase winner (5 winners) will be offered the CPHIA Experience in Zambia Lusaka (and have the opportunity to interact with the AMR Stakeholders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>2<sup>nd<\/sup>&nbsp;phase<\/strong>: While in Zambia, the continental winner will receive the AMR advocacy contest Certificate and will be appointed as one of the Youth Africa CDC AMR champion<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Africa CDC will acknowledge&nbsp;the champion\u2019s achievements and provide a platform<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>including public announcements, press releases, and recognition at the CPHIA event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Africa CDC will facilitate connections with experts, professionals, and organizations in the field of AMR, including youth-led AMR organizations, to enable the winner to collaborate with others in the fight against antimicrobial resistance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Africa CDC will provide mentorship and guidance to the champion on how to effectively advocate for AMR awareness and action and public relations and communication for the champion to effectively communicate their message and engage with the media.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" type=\"1\" start=\"6\">\n<li><strong>Exclusion criteria<\/strong>: Photographs that contain inappropriate theme as sexual, racist or any other theme that may result offending for the audience will be rejected. Photographs that are not submitted together with the Consent and Declaration form will be rejected.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Copyright and permission<\/strong>: The person who submits a photograph must agree with the Consent and Declaration form.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Ownership<\/strong>: Ownership of the photographs will be maintained by the participant.
