The Senior Staff Association of Nigeria Universities(SSANU) and the Non-Academic Staff Union of Universities and Allied Educational Institutions (NASU) have extended their four-week-old strike by another one month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Recall, that the two-week warning strike by the Non-Academic Staff Union and Associated Institutions (NASU) and Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU) was extended by two weeks due to Federal Government\u2019s inaction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mr. Peters Adeyemi, spokesman for the Joint Action Committee (JAC) of both NASU and SSANU, told the press, yesterday 24 April, in Abuja, that the current administration had shown no interest to resolve the impasse with the two non-teaching staff associations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In a circular to NASU and SSANU branch chairmen in Universities and inter-University centres with reference number JAC\/NS\/VOL.II\/224, dated 21st April 2022<\/em>, the JAC said the latest circular was sequel to the ones with numbers JAC\/NS\/VOL. II\/210 and JAC\/NS\/VOL.II\/220 dated 25th March 2022 and 8th April 2022 in respect of the two weeks\u2019 warning strike, which \u201cended early this morning Monday 25 April 2022.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n Furthermore, Adeyemi accused the minister, Dr. Chris Ngige, of only engaging the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU). In his words: \u201cI think the government has decided not to talk to us \u2013 both NASU and SSANU<\/em>.
