Deserving and eligible doctoral students from developing countries are encouraged to apply for the opportunity to study in the United Kingdom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The scholarship seeks to support promising doctoral candidates who wish to carry out part of his\/her doctoral research at Ghent University and half in a university in a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/studygreen.info\/tag\/developing-countries\/\"><strong>developing country<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0with funding from \u2018Special Research Fund\u2019 (BOF).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Scholarship Sponsor(s):&nbsp;<\/strong>Ghent University (Special Research Fund)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Scholarships to be taken at:&nbsp;<\/strong>Ghent University<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Scholarship Type<\/strong>: Fully Funded Scholarship<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Scholarship Worth:&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/strong>See Scholarship Benefits<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Number of Awards:&nbsp;<\/strong>Not Stated<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Study Level<\/strong>:&nbsp; PhD<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Nationality:&nbsp;<\/strong>Developing Countries.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Eligibility Criteria<\/strong>:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Applicants must be international student from developing countries<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Applications must be submitted on the application forms provided for this purpose which will be assessed by the Research council.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Applicants are to note that the scholarship is highly competitive and the applicants will be selected based on their Bachelor and Master degree results.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Applicants will also be assessed by their doctoral project, relevance of the research topic for development and capacity building.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The scientific and scholarly potential of the promoter\u2019s research group(s); the partnership between Ghent University and the Local Institutes as well as the scientific\/ scholarly disposition of the local institute.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Selection Criteria<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The qualification of the applicants<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The relevance of the research topic for development and capacity building<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The doctoral project<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Scientific\/scholarly potential of the promoter\u2019s research group(s)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Scholarship Benefits<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>PhD scholarship at Ghent University (in total 24 months)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The Ghent University receives a bench fee of&nbsp; \u20ac 310\/per month of research in Ghent + \u20ac8000 travel budget to cover (part of) the operational costs of research.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Application Procedure<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>How-to-Apply:&nbsp;<\/strong>to apply for the Ghent University Special Research Fund PhD Scholarships;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Applicants must submit&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ugent.be\/nl\/onderzoek\/financiering\/bof\/dos\/application.doc\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">application form<\/a>&nbsp; electronically via e-mail to BOFapplication@ugent.be<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Applicant\u2019s Ghent University supervisor must submit an advice on the candidate, stating the supervisor\u2019s opinion on the capability of the candidate as a future researcher.
