{"id":16956,"date":"2023-11-24T15:52:57","date_gmt":"2023-11-24T15:52:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/presspay.ng\/news\/?p=16956"},"modified":"2023-11-24T15:53:01","modified_gmt":"2023-11-24T15:53:01","slug":"2024-iowa-state-university-scholarship-in-usa-fully-funded","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/presspay.ng\/news\/2024-iowa-state-university-scholarship-in-usa-fully-funded\/","title":{"rendered":"2024 Iowa State University Scholarship in USA (Fully Funded)"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>About<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Iowa State University Scholarship offers international students up to $25,000 per year to support graduate student stipends during their Masters or PhD program in the United States.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Borel Global Fellows Program supports students from Sub-Saharan Africa to pursue graduate studies at Iowa State University\u2019s College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Borel Global Fellowship Program seeks to help eradicate food and nutrition insecurity while promoting wealth and health for subsistence farmers in Sub-Saharan Africa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This will be achieved by educating scientists at Iowa State University who will become knowledge leaders that reside and work in Sub-Saharan Africa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Thanks to a generous gift from ISU alumni Jim (\u201978 agricultural business) and Marcia (\u201978 family environment) Borel, the Borel Global Fellows Program was launched in 2018.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Eligibility Criteria:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>be admitted into a graduate program in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>be a citizen of a Sub-Saharan African country<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>commit to completing graduate studies as a means for preparation of a career contributing to food security in Sub-Saharan Africa<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>complete the majority of their graduate research in Sub-Saharan Africa<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>demonstrate an intention to work and live in Sub-Saharan Africa after completing their graduate studies<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Benefits:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Up to $25,000 per year per student is available for graduate student stipends (or a combination of a partial stipend and research funding).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Funding duration is up to 30 months for MS students and up to 42 months for PhD students.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Additional funding is available for travel to and from Africa for research purposes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Required Documents<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Completed application form&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>cover letter from the major professor,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>a CV of the student, and<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>a copy of the student\u2019s goal statement.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>How to Apply?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>confirm your eligibility status<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Completed application will include a cover letter from the major professor, a CV of the student, and a copy of the student\u2019s goal statement.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Cover letters will address the commitment of the major professor to provide the remaining required funding (typically tuition, fees and research costs) and his\/her commitment to support the student\u2019s research in Sub-Saharan Africa.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Applications are not&nbsp;accepted directly from graduate students.&nbsp;Applications may only be submitted by Iowa State University professors to request support for graduate students who have already been accepted into a graduate program in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.csrl.cals.iastate.edu\/borel-global-fellows-program\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">CLICK HERE TO APPLY<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Deadline: January 15, 2024<\/h4>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>About Iowa State University Scholarship offers international students up to $25,000 per year to support graduate student stipends during their<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":15016,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"colormag_page_container_layout":"default_layout","colormag_page_sidebar_layout":"default_layout","footnotes":""},"categories":[47],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-16956","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-scholarship"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.3 -
