{"id":17000,"date":"2023-11-27T13:24:02","date_gmt":"2023-11-27T13:24:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/presspay.ng\/news\/?p=17000"},"modified":"2023-11-27T13:24:12","modified_gmt":"2023-11-27T13:24:12","slug":"aicpa-cpa-startup-accelerator-2024-25000-grant","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/presspay.ng\/news\/aicpa-cpa-startup-accelerator-2024-25000-grant\/","title":{"rendered":"AICPA\/CPA Startup Accelerator 2024 ($25,000 grant)"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>What types of companies are we looking for?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>We\u2019re focused on three specific themes, both of which ultimately help the profession perform and add value at a higher level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>ACCOUNTECH<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2014 Tools and platforms that improve efficiencies for accounting and finance professionals as well as advanced technologies that enable firms to shift their focus to value-added advisory services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Examples may include but are not limited to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Automation of routine accounting tasks<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Automating collection and analysis of data that accountants can use to inform strategy<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Artificial intelligence to augment human decision-making<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Blockchain platforms and\/or cryptoasset reporting<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Business Intelligence and Predictive Analytics<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Financial and Tax Planning Solutions<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Cybersecurity tools &amp; platforms<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>REGTECH<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2014 Technologies that facilitate the delivery of regulatory requirements and help businesses meet the challenges of regulatory monitoring, reporting, compliance, risk management and fraud detection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Examples may include but are not limited to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Machine learning and artificial intelligence that help financial institutions manage, analyze and report accurate information<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Technology to detect real-time market or operational risks<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Compliance &amp; Risk controls<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>ESG<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2014 Solutions that enable the accounting &amp; finance professional to support, audit and advise on Environmental, Social and Governance initiatives. A growing category that provides an evaluation of a firm\u2019s collective conscientiousness as it relates to environmental and social factors. Examples may include but are not limited to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Examples may include but are not limited to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Data collection or repository<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Dashboards that track ESG initiatives performance<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Audit tools<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Reporting solutions<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Eligibility Criteria:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Seed or pre-Series A, with some exceptions<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Must have a functioning product or service<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Must have a value proposition for the accounting profession<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>What we offer<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.cpa.com\/sites\/cpa\/files\/2020-07\/icon-funding.png\" alt=\"icon\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">FUNDING<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Selected startups will be offered a $25,000 grant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.cpa.com\/sites\/cpa\/files\/2020-07\/icon-access.png\" alt=\"icon\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">ACCESS<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Startups will be given access to the profession including to members, firms, press, and other customers that can help their businesses grow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.cpa.com\/sites\/cpa\/files\/2020-07\/icon-knowledge.png\" alt=\"icon\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">KNOWLEDGE<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>We will provide unmatched subject-matter expertise, coaching, mentorship, and knowledge about the profession to help each selected startup refine its value proposition, scale and grow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/accelerator.cpa.com\/advisors-experts\">Advisory Panel, Executives and Thought Leaders<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Timing for the 2024 cohort<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>July 2023<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Applications open<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>November 30, 2023<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Applications close<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>January 2024<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Announcement of the new cohort. Upon selection, the full accelerator program is ~6 months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>March 2024<\/strong><br>(NYC)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The cohort will convene in person for two days of learning and mentoring.
