During their fellowship year, fellows make significant contributions to their placement organizations and the communities they serve. They also engage in robust leadership training and integrate into GHC\u2019s global network.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Eligibility\u00a0Criteria:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>BY THE START OF THE FELLOWSHIP, FELLOWS MUST:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Be 30 years of age or younger.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Hold a bachelor\u2019s or undergraduate university degree.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Be proficient in English.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Be a citizen or legal permanent resident of Burundi, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Liberia Malawi, Nigeria, Rwanda, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, or Zimbabwe.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Fellowship Countries<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Citizens and legal permanent residents of all 13 eligible countries can<a href=\"https:\/\/ghcorps.org\/fellowship-role\/\">&nbsp;apply for up to three total roles<\/a>&nbsp;in any of our four operating countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Malawian citizens<\/strong>\u00a0are eligible to apply for national roles in Malawi (M-Nat) as well as international roles in Rwanda (R-Int), Uganda (G-Int), and Zambia (Z-Int).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Rwandan citizens&nbsp;<\/strong>are eligible to apply for national roles in Rwanda (R-Nat) as well as international roles in Malawi (M-Int), Uganda (G-Int), and Zambia (Z-Int).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Ugandan citizens<\/strong>\u00a0are eligible to apply for national roles in Uganda (G-Nat) as well as international roles in Malawi (M-Int), Rwanda (R-Int), and Zambia (Z-Int).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Zambian citizens<\/strong>&nbsp;are eligible to apply for national roles in Zambia (Z-Nat) as well as international roles in Malawi (M-Int), Rwanda (R-Int), and Uganda (G-Int).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Citizens or legal permanent residents of Burundi, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Liberia, Nigeria, South Africa, Tanzania, or Zimbabwe are eligible to apply for international roles in any of our four placement countries \u2013 Malawi (M-Int), Rwanda (R-Int), Uganda (G-Int) and Zambia (Z-Int).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Benefits:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>GHC fellows receive a living stipend that varies based on location. The stipend takes into consideration the local economic indicators,, and is set at a level appropriate for a professional trainee for that location.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition, fellows are provided with:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Housing or a housing allowance;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Health insurance; and,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Payment for travel to\/from the placement site as well as GHC training and retreats for the duration of the fellowship.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Timeline<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Applications open December 5, 2023<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>PRIORITY APPLICATIONS ARE DUE JANUARY 2, 2024<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For the first time, we\u2019re instating a priority deadline for applicants to get priority consideration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>APPLICATIONS CLOSE JANUARY 10, 2024<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Applications close at 5 pm GMT\/6 pm WAT\/7 pm CAT\/ 8pm EAT. We encourage you to submit your application as soon as you can!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>RECOMMENDATION FORMS DUE JANUARY 24, 2024<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>GHC require one recommendation form submitted directly by your reference by January 24, 2024, at noon EST \/ 7:00 PM CAT \/ 8:00PM EAT. We can\u2019t consider your application without it!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>SELECTING OUR NEXT COHORT!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>GHC review applications January through February, conducts interviews in March and April, and make offers on a rolling basis starting in late April.
