{"id":18026,"date":"2024-01-17T10:30:56","date_gmt":"2024-01-17T10:30:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/presspay.ng\/news\/?p=18026"},"modified":"2024-01-17T10:31:00","modified_gmt":"2024-01-17T10:31:00","slug":"call-for-applications-african-women-entrepreneurship-cooperative-awec-program-2024-for-african-female-business-owners-cohort-7","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/presspay.ng\/news\/call-for-applications-african-women-entrepreneurship-cooperative-awec-program-2024-for-african-female-business-owners-cohort-7\/","title":{"rendered":"Call for Applications: African Women Entrepreneurship Cooperative (AWEC) Program 2024 for African Female Business Owners (Cohort 7)"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>About<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The African Women Entrepreneurship Cooperative is an innovative, 12-month leadership and business management capacity-building program that accepts 200 female entrepreneurs annually.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the two-week application period, AWEC receives an average of more than 2,000 applications for just 200 program spots.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Eligibility<\/strong> <strong>Criteria:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Female<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>African country of origin<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A for-profit business owner in operation of a minimum 2 years in any industry with at least 2 employees, full-time or part-time\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>You must be the only one in your business applying<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Or aspiring entrepreneur with a business plan who has not yet launched<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Access to a reliable internet connection with sufficient bandwidth for video calls over the 12-month period<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Professional working proficiency in English<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Application Tips<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>1. Familiarize yourself with the program you are applying for:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>What does the program offer? How does this align with your goals?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>How does this program align with your learning style AND your availability?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>What does \u201csuccess\u201d look like in the program? How does this align with your vision for success?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>2. Ensure that you meet the applicant criteria.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>3. Review the application questions as early as possible:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>What do I need to answer this question?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>How much time will it take me to answer each question?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>4. Start early. Don\u2019t wait till the last minute!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>5. Be clear and concise:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>No need to use fancy buzzwords \u2013 explain your business as though you are talking to a stranger who has no idea what you do.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>6. Know your numbers.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Revenue, employees, customers, capital \u2013 what data is the application asking for? If you need to approximate, do so via informed guesses.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>7.
