{"id":18174,"date":"2024-01-23T12:50:19","date_gmt":"2024-01-23T12:50:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/presspay.ng\/news\/?p=18174"},"modified":"2024-01-23T12:50:22","modified_gmt":"2024-01-23T12:50:22","slug":"2024-government-of-ireland-scholarship-program","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/presspay.ng\/news\/2024-government-of-ireland-scholarship-program\/","title":{"rendered":"2024 Government of Ireland Scholarship Program"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>About<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>A Government of Ireland Scholarship consists of a stipend amounting to \u20ac10,000 for one year of full-time study at master\u2019s or PhD level.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The awardees\u2019 host higher education institutions are required to give a full fee waiver to the awardees for the year of their scholarship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Successful scholars will be expected to commence their studies in either September or October 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Eligibility Criteria:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Applicants must have a domiciliary of origin outside the EU\/EEA\/Switzerland\/ United Kingdom.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Candidates will need to apply for admission to a relevant master\u2019s or PhD programme offered by an eligible higher education institution as per that institution\u2019s admission procedures.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Applicants must have a conditional or final offer of admission to that higher education institution at the time of application and will be required to submit a copy of same.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The offer letter must confirm that the student has been offered a place on a full-time programme as an international fee-paying student.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Benefit:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Ireland Scholarship will be up to a maximum of \u20ac28,000 per annum in any approved year and will consist of the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>a stipend of \u20ac19,000 per annum;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>a contribution to fees, including non-EU fees, up to a maximum of \u20ac5,750 per annum; and<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>eligible direct research expenses of \u20ac3,250 per annum.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Required Documents<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Educational documents<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Study Plan\/Statement of Purpose<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Research Proposal<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Copy of Passport<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Supervision details (if any)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Recommendation forms<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Language proof (if any)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Additional documents if any<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>How to apply?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>An indicative version of the application form is provided for information purposes only. Applications must be submitted via the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/webportalapp.com\/sp\/login\/heagrantapplication\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">online portal<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>All applications require two references to be uploaded via the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/webportalapp.com\/sp\/login\/heagrantapplication\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">online portal<\/a>. It is recommended that candidates submit their applications well before the deadline, to avoid technical issues due to heavy server traffic on the respective day. Applications cannot be submitted once the deadline has passed. No alterations can be made to an application once it has been submitted.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Assessment process<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Applicants are expected to demonstrate:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>a record of outstanding academic achievement;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>excellent communication skills;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>evidence of participation in extracurricular activities, for example humanitarian work, politics, arts or sport; and<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>a strong rationale for pursuing their study in Ireland that indicates how a Government of Ireland International Education Scholarship would align with their longer-term goals.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Applications will first be shared with the relevant higher education institutions, who will check them for eligibility and shortlist them based on alignment with institutional strategic objectives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The shortlisted applications will then be assessed by an independent panel of international assessors.
