{"id":18480,"date":"2024-02-01T14:34:53","date_gmt":"2024-02-01T14:34:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/presspay.ng\/news\/?p=18480"},"modified":"2024-02-01T14:34:58","modified_gmt":"2024-02-01T14:34:58","slug":"call-for-applications-injini-mastercard-foundation-edtech-fellowship-program-2024","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/presspay.ng\/news\/call-for-applications-injini-mastercard-foundation-edtech-fellowship-program-2024\/","title":{"rendered":"Call for Applications: Injini\/Mastercard Foundation EdTech Fellowship Program 2024"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-drop-cap\">The Injini EdTech Fellowship Program, delivered in partnership with the Mastercard Foundation, is a 6-month, equity-free, hybrid venture support program that takes a partnership approach to business acceleration, broken down into three core focus areas which will be delivered from May through October 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The EdTech Fellowship Program specifically focuses on the following three key objectives:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>facilitate market access with a lens to increase reach to learners at the \u201cbottom of the pyramid\u201d;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Design and implement, or refine, impact measurement, monitoring, and evaluation systems; and<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Improve financial sustainability, including investment readiness support, where appropriate.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Benefits<\/strong>:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Each selected EdTech company, or \u201cFellow\u201d, will receive Injini\u2019s specialized acceleration support valued at over R2,500,000, in partnership with Mastercard Foundation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Program benefits include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Hands-on support from specialists in education innovation, fundraising, impact M&amp;E, commerce and more;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Pedagogical evaluation and certification by EdTech Impact and Education Alliance Finland;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Bespoke market research support by Injini\u2019s team of education innovation researchers;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u201cSponsored Skills\u201d to swiftly address team needs, produce targeted outputs, and strengthen your overall capacity for long-term business success with the help of external consultants;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Networking, knowledge-sharing, and learning opportunities with key ecosystem players and industry experts;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Access to a selection of courses, in addition to office hours from the Human-Computer Interaction Institute faculty members at Carnegie Mellon University \u2013 a global leader in education technology and applied learning sciences;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Contributing to a growing body of evidence documenting \u201cwhat works\u201d in African EdTech; and<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u200bEquity-free venture funding of over R1,000,000.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Eligibility<\/strong> <strong>Criteria:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The typical participating EdTech company in the EdTech Fellowship Program fits the following profile:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Addresses a substantial market opportunity, with a focus on South Africa;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Has a tech-enabled solution designed to increase access and improve educational outcomes in South Africa, preferably supporting learners in pre-primary education (ages 0-5), primary and secondary education (ages 5-18) and\/or teacher training and professional development;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Post-revenue, growth-stage startup (annual revenue likely exceeding R1,000,000). If the applicant is a non-profit entity, grant funding constitutes annual revenue;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Has the potential to reach 8,000 direct learners within one year of program participation<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Led by a diverse team with a strong understanding of the context in which they operate \u2013 we\u2019re especially excited to support inspiring female founders and leadership teams.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Application Process<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Applications for the program open on 22 January 2024 and close at midnight on 13 February 2024.
