The African American Policy Forum (AAPF) is offering a unique opportunity for dedicated individuals like you to make a meaningful impact through its Fellowship Program. Designed to cultivate skills in community organizing, policy analysis, nonprofit operations, and law, this highly competitive program attracts fellows from diverse backgrounds and professions worldwide, enriching AAPF\u2019s mission with a wealth of talent and experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Program Overview:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Duration:<\/strong>&nbsp;Ten weeks, running from June 10, 2024, to August 16, 2024.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Format:<\/strong>&nbsp;Remote, allowing flexibility and accessibility.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Commitment:<\/strong>&nbsp;Full-time engagement (35-40 hours per week) with a stipend provided.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Requirements:<\/strong>&nbsp;Fellows must have access to a computer and reliable internet connection.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Duties and Responsibilities<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Participation in brainstorming sessions<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Preparation of communications materials<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Contribution to AAPF initiatives through research and program planning<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Support for events and outward-facing programming<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Assistance with various projects, including speech-writing and media preparation<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Eligibility Criteria:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Strong academic background<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Demonstrated skills in relevant areas<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Familiarity with Critical Race Theory and Kimberl\u00e9 Crenshaw\u2019s work<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Understanding of AAPF\u2019s mission and initiatives<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Proficiency in essential software and social media platforms<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ability to work independently and collaboratively<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Projects<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Fellows will be assigned to one of several impactful projects, including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>CRT Summer School:<\/strong>&nbsp;Educating on Critical Race Theory and Intersectionality.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Digital &amp; Social Media:<\/strong>&nbsp;Enhancing online presence and engagement.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Race and Gender Equity Initiatives:<\/strong>&nbsp;Researching and advocating for marginalized groups.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>#TruthBeTold\/Books Unbanned:<\/strong>&nbsp;Fighting censorship and promoting inclusive reading.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>The Forum:<\/strong>&nbsp;Contributing to AAPF\u2019s online publication.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Submission Instructions<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Eligible candidates should access&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/forms.gle\/fdMB3kjaHePJ5ZGN9\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">the application&nbsp;here<\/a>. You will be prompted to provide your cover letter, a relevant writing sample of 3-5 pages (or relevant representation of your skill, i.e. graphic art, media clippings, etc.), a 250-word statement as to why you are interested in the work, and two professional references.
