Gain expert training, critical resources to accelerate your venture, a one-week in-person residency in Washington, DC, and a one-week in-person residency in Nairobi, Kenya.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Africa Climate Fellowship is run with support from Amazon Web Services (AWS) and the Office of Global Partnerships at the U.S. State Department.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Program Structure<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Cohort of up to 10 ventures founded by entrepreneurs from across Sub-Saharan Africa, working in the climate space. Ventures receive training in Halcyon\u2019s methodology on product-market fit, investment readiness, and leadership.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Program is delivered through:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>One virtual kickoff meeting<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A one-week residency in DC<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Monthly virtual meetings<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A one-week residency in Nairobi<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Eligibility Criteria:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>They are looking for (for-profit) startups that are building scalable solutions that are tackling challenges related to Climate change.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Location:&nbsp;<\/strong>Must have your venture based in and\/or serving Sub-Saharan Africa<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Stage:&nbsp;<\/strong>Must have a Minimum Viable Product that has the potential to scale<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Team:&nbsp;<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>May apply with up to one co-founder<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Applicant must be the CEO and\/or hold primary decision-making power<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Must be fluent in English<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Must be at least 21 years of age by the start of the program<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Program Engagement:&nbsp;<\/strong>Must be able to participate in all activities and programming sessions<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Impact:&nbsp;<\/strong>Must be developing a product and venture that contributes towards 1 or more of the UN\u2019s 17 SDGs<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition to eligibility, Halcyon scores each application based on 4 criteria: Impact, Scalability, Innovation, and Talent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Benefits<\/strong>:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Each program includes specific benefits to fellows. Fellows accepted into this program will receive the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A $5,000 USD per venture equity-free stipend to use toward travel expenses to attend the residencies<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>One week long residency at Halcyon\u2019s facilities in Georgetown, Washington, DC<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>One week long residency in Nairobi with a culminating event featuring pitches from each venture and connections to investors, advisors, and media<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Bespoke training on:<ul><li>Product-market fit<\/li><li>Investment readiness<\/li><li>Leadership<\/li><li>Skills development and mentorship<\/li><\/ul>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Honing storytelling and pitching<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Connections to relevant impact
