Students of Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, Osun state have blocked the Ife-Ibadan express road leading to gridlock on the highway to protest over the industrial action taken by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU). The student leaders have vowed to interrupt the election if the Federal Government and ASUU does not reach a resolve.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The students converged on the main campus of the school University around 8am yesterday 19 may 2022 with placards, pen and exercise books as they claimed some of their lecturers will be at the blockade to teach them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
OAU Students\u2019 Union\u2019s Vice President, Aworanti Grace pointed out that the students bodies across the country has warned government over their refusal to meet ASUU demand, saying though Election is important, Education is more important.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to Comr. Grace: \u201cWe have warned the government not to allow student move to the streets before resolving their impasse with ASUU.
