{"id":20632,"date":"2024-04-16T15:12:12","date_gmt":"2024-04-16T15:12:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/presspay.ng\/news\/?p=20632"},"modified":"2024-04-16T15:12:16","modified_gmt":"2024-04-16T15:12:16","slug":"german-government-wascal-scholarship-2024-fully-funded","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/presspay.ng\/news\/german-government-wascal-scholarship-2024-fully-funded\/","title":{"rendered":"German Government Wascal Scholarship 2024 (Fully Funded)"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The German Government offers the Wascal Scholarship to eligible African countries in partnership with the West African Science Service Centre on Climate Change and Adapted Land Use (WASCAL).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Wascal Scholarship is a fully funded opportunity to study in West African universities and\u00a0 Germany. it covers the <em>full university fees, monthly stipends, accommodation, and the costs of flights to and from the countries<\/em> mentioned above.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Eligibility Criteria:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Be a citizen of a WASCAL member country (Benin, Burkina Faso, Cabo Verde, C\u00f4te d\u2019Ivoire, Ghana, Guinea Conakry, Mali, Niger, Nigeria, Senegal, The Gambia or Togo);<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Other ECOWAS member countries may be admitted as self-funded students on an availability basis.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Hold a bachelor\u2019s degree in one of the following fields or any other related fields: Biological Sciences, Oceanography, Fishing or Livestock Engineering, Geography, Sciences of the Atmosphere.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Candidates applying for Master Research Programme in Informatics for Climate Change must<br>have a minimum of BSc in Computer Science, Physics, Chemistry, Health sciences, Meteorology and Climate science, Geography, Biological sciences, Geoscience, Environmental Sciences, Economics, Agriculture, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Engineering, Electrical engineering, Electronic Engineering.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Have at least an intermediate level in English language.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Benefits:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>monthly stipend to cover accommodation, and living expenses for the period of studies;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>payment of university fees;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>roundtrip tickets;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>accommodation<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>travel to selected West African countries as well as to Germany.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>research budget;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>a personal laptop computer on loan for the duration of the programme<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Required Documents<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Application Form\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Academic transcripts\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Curriculum vitae<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>WASSCE or SSCE Certificate (Anglophone Countries)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Two letters of recommendation from professors or researchers (grade associate professor or senior researcher at least).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A copy of identity document<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A copy of Passport Photo Page<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A letter of motivation (max. 2 pages).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u00a0A copy of university degree certificate<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A certificate copy of proficiency in English or, in alternative, a\u00a0 statement indicating and<br>justifying your self-assessment in the context of English proficiency.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Proof of professional experience in relevant area for the course, IF applicable.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A written commitment to pay a registration fee of 30 Euro if admitted.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>NOTE: The required documents vary for each of the programs<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>How to Apply?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/wascal.org\/it-is-official-apply-now\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">CLICK HERE TO APPLY<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Deadline: June 15, 2024<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The German Government offers the Wascal Scholarship to eligible African countries in partnership with the West African Science Service Centre<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"colormag_page_container_layout":"default_layout","colormag_page_sidebar_layout":"default_layout","footnotes":""},"categories":[47],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-20632","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-scholarship"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.4 -
