{"id":21581,"date":"2024-05-27T13:11:22","date_gmt":"2024-05-27T13:11:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/presspay.ng\/news\/?p=21581"},"modified":"2024-05-27T13:11:33","modified_gmt":"2024-05-27T13:11:33","slug":"bishops-university-masters-scholarship-2024","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/presspay.ng\/news\/bishops-university-masters-scholarship-2024\/","title":{"rendered":"Bishops University Masters Scholarship 2024"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The Bishops University Scholarship offers a fully funded opportunity to obtain a Master\u2019s degree that comes with a $14,000 stipend per year, plus $2000 funding for research costs, and\u00a0an additional $7,500 per year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Department of Environment, Agriculture, and Geography at Bishop\u2019s University in Sherbrooke, Quebec, Canada, seeks to appoint a highly qualified candidate with a strong interest in sustainable food systems for a 2-year thesis-based, Individualized Master in the Sustainable Agriculture and Food Systems (SAFS) program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Eligibility Criteria:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Have a bachelor\u2019s degree with a minimum average of 75% or equivalent (3.0\/4.0 or B-).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Bachelor\u2019s degree may be in environmental sciences, environmental studies, geography, ecology, sociology, economics, political science, or other relevant fields.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Demonstrate English language proficiency<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Demonstrate in your cover letter how your knowledge and skills apply to analyzing food systems and discuss their research interests in relation to the Lighthouse Lab\u2019s work.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Benefits:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The Bishops University Masters Scholarship is fully funded.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>There is a\u00a0<strong>$14,000 stipend per year, plus $2000 funding for research costs<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The selected student will also be expected to apply to the Graduate Entrance Scholarship which, if successful, could provide an additional\u00a0<strong>$7,500 per year<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In addition, the selected student will be expected to apply for the appropriate FRQ and CGS-M scholarships (if eligible) for their second year of studies.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The successful applicant is expected to start September 1, 2024 (in exceptional cases, a start date in January 2025 may be possible).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Required Documents<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Transcript(s)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Cover letter explaining how the student\u2019s education, skills (see \u2018recommended skills\u2019 section), experience, and interests match the call.
