The incoming class each year ranges from 15 to 25 students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The department\u2019s admissions process is centered within our areas of specialization (behavior analysis(opens in new tab),&nbsp;behavioral and cognitive neurosciences(opens in new tab),&nbsp;counseling(opens in new tab),&nbsp;developmental(opens in new tab),&nbsp;social(opens in new tab)).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Area faculty independently review applications and make recommendations for admission and funding to a department-wide committee that makes the final decision on funding offers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Eligibility Criteria:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Undergraduate preparation:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>at least one course in statistics<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>at least one course in each of the following areas of Psychology:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Biological bases (physio, sensory, comparative)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Developmental Changes (child\/adolescent, lifespan)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Learning and Cognition (behavioral analysis, cognitive processes)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Sociocultural\/Individual differences (social, personality, abnormal)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Recent entering graduate classes had an average grade point average (GPA) for the last two years of 3.8.
