At this stage, you must have a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) or Proof of Concept (POC). This phase is<br>supported by the expertise and networks of partners.<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Bootcamp<\/td><td>October<\/td><td>20 selected teams (that include 5 CGIAR-led innovations) benefit from<br>an intensive, 4-day&nbsp;bootcamp&nbsp;in Colombia,&nbsp;offering technical<br>guidance and mentorship to prepare for the pitch day.<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Acceleration program<\/td><td>October \u2013 February (2025)<\/td><td>10 teams engage in an acceleration program, combining business training<br>and technical assistance to support them in developing an actionable pathway<br>to scale.<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Demo day<\/td><td>February (2025)<\/td><td>10 teams&nbsp;pitch their solutions to investors, industry experts,<br>agribusinesses, scientists,&nbsp;governmental<br>institutions, and the media at the closing demo day.<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>How do we select?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Applications are assessed according to a set of criteria and scored on a scale of 1-5 with 1 being the lowest (poor) and 5 being the highest score (excellent).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Applicability to the context of Colombia: Your team should possess a comprehensive understanding of\u00a0Colombia\u2019s agriculture sector, its specific needs, and challenges,<br>demonstrating that your solution is tailored to fit at least one of the\u00a0priority areas.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Scientific relevance:\u00a0Your solution and its applications should be clearly defined and scientifically\u00a0validated with a clear connection to CGIAR\u2019s\u202f<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cgiar.org\/how-we-work\/strategy\/%22%20\/t%20%22_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Impact Areas<\/a>\u202fand ongoing\u202f<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cgiar.org\/research\/cgiar-portfolio\/initiatives-explorer\/%22%20\/t%20%22_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">research projects<\/a>.\u200b\u200b<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Novelty and uniqueness: Your\u00a0solution should introduce new concepts, approaches, or technologies that\u00a0diverge from existing ideas and practices.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Sustainability and Scalability: The\u00a0solution\u2019s business model should be robust and sustainable, addressing\u00a0market needs effectively and distinguishing itself from competitors in\u00a0Colombia. It should be supported by documented evidence of market size,<br>scalability, replicability, and transferability, and the ability to\u00a0prevent competitors from replicating or infringing the innovation.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Environmental and social impact: The\u00a0solution should effectively address social and environmental challenges,\u00a0with measurable and positive impacts in these areas.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Team: Your team should have a diverse and\u00a0complementary skillset, and possess technical, scientific or industry\u00a0specific knowledge.
