{"id":22673,"date":"2024-07-17T15:31:57","date_gmt":"2024-07-17T15:31:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/presspay.ng\/news\/?p=22673"},"modified":"2024-07-17T15:32:01","modified_gmt":"2024-07-17T15:32:01","slug":"call-for-applications-global-health-corps-ghc-africa-leadership-accelerator-2024-funded","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/presspay.ng\/news\/call-for-applications-global-health-corps-ghc-africa-leadership-accelerator-2024-funded\/","title":{"rendered":"Call For Applications: Global Health Corps (GHC) Africa Leadership Accelerator 2024 (Funded)"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The new Africa Leadership Accelerator brings Global Health Corps\u2019 renowned global health leadership curriculum to rising leaders currently working in public health roles in organizations across Malawi, Rwanda, Uganda, and Zambia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Across nine months, fellows will engage in virtual leadership academy workshops, in-person retreats, executive coaching, professional mentorship, and more all while continuing to work at their current organization.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Program Components<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Africa Leadership Accelerator is designed with a\u00a0hybrid learning approach\u00a0including virtual and in-person learning opportunities. The program is completely free to fellows\u2014all virtual programming, travel to retreat locations, lodging costs, and meals for the in-person retreats will be covered by GHC.\u00a0Fellows should expect to dedicate 6-8 hours per month to the program to get the most out of it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Once a fellow, always a fellow.&nbsp;After completing the leadership accelerator, fellows join GHC\u2019s lifelong global network of 1,200+ alumni and continue to grow as leaders through GHC\u2019s robust alumni program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The 9-month fellowship runs from September to May.&nbsp;Participation in all components of the fellowship listed below is mandatory unless otherwise noted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All fellows will participate in:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Leadership Academy Workshops (~3 hours\/month, built into the workday)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Individual stretch &amp; coalition projects<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Global and country-based in-person retreats<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Executive Leadership Coaching sessions<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Quarterly supervisor check-ins<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Learning circles with fellow cohort members<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Final project presentations<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Alumni mentorship<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>GHC staff support and check-ins<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Learning Topics:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Understanding Personal Values &amp; Beliefs<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Leading with Integrity &amp; Transparency<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Human-Centered Design<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Design Thinking<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Generative AI as a Tool for Development<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>People Management<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The Science &amp; Art of Receiving Feedback Well<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Roles in Social Change<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Managing Up<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Advocacy &amp; Coalition Building<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Applying Systems Thinking to Problem-Solving &amp; Decision-Making<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Project Management Fundamentals<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Conflict Resolution &amp; Negotiation Skills<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Eligibility<\/strong> <strong>Criteria:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Be age 21-35 by September 1, 2024.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Be a citizen of Malawi, Rwanda, Uganda, or Zambia.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Be currently employed full-time in a non-clinical public health role for at least six months at the time of application.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Be currently employed by a public health organization operating in Malawi, Rwanda, Uganda, or Zambia and has expressed written support for your participation in the program.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>There are no specific education or training requirements to be eligible for participation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Benefits<\/strong>:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Strengthen your leadership identity.\u00a0<\/strong>You\u2019ll develop a clearer sense of your unique leadership strengths and weaknesses and an informed understanding of how you\u2019re perceived by others. You\u2019ll also learn to articulate your personal values, explore your role in advancing health equity, and develop your leadership vision.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Extend and leverage your networks.<\/strong>\u00a0Adopt practices to extend your network in strategic ways and get the support and critical insights you need to advance your leadership. You\u2019ll integrate into GHC\u2019s global community of 1,200+ alumni and advisors.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Improve your understanding of how change happens in a system.<\/strong>\u00a0Explore frameworks and tools to better understand and analyze the systems you work and live in.
