{"id":22771,"date":"2024-07-19T15:40:59","date_gmt":"2024-07-19T15:40:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/presspay.ng\/news\/?p=22771"},"modified":"2024-07-19T15:41:01","modified_gmt":"2024-07-19T15:41:01","slug":"jamb-sets-new-rules-for-students-matriculation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/presspay.ng\/news\/jamb-sets-new-rules-for-students-matriculation\/","title":{"rendered":"JAMB Sets New Rules For Student&#8217;s Matriculation"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-drop-cap\">The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has set new rules for students\u2019 matriculation in tertiary institutions in Nigeria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The JAMB Registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, was at the 2024 Policy Meeting on Admissions into Tertiary Institutions, in Abuja on Thursday 18 July.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Prof. Oloyede ordered tertiary institutions nationwide to inform JAMB of their matriculation ceremonies and submit matriculation lists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He also urged institutions to forward the dates of matriculation ceremonies and lists to the National Universities Commission (NUC), National Board for Technical Education (NBTE), and National Colleges of Education Commission (NCCE).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to him, institutions must notify JAMB in two weeks before embarking on matriculation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He said any institution that did not submit its matriculation list would not be considered for any degree. He also identified that communication with the Board using the Central Admissions Processing Systems (CAPS) and Integrated Brochure and Syllabus System (IBASS) was necessary for admissions processes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u201cWe have observed that many institutions still send in correspondences through other means apart from the established channels of CAPS and IBASS.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u201cThose who are engaged in such are advised to redirect correspondences through the recognised and acceptable channels.
