Its mandate is to promote the economic and social development of Africa. ECA\u2019s dual role as a regional arm of the UN, and a part of the regional institutional landscape in Africa, positions it well to make unique contributions to member States\u2019 efforts to address their development challenges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Also, ECA has five sub-regional offices plus the African Institute for Economic Development and Planning, (IDEP) across the Continent through which it supports regional development priorities and agenda and African countries in the realization of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Agenda 2030 and Agenda 2063 of the African Union.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Eligibility Criteria:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Age Requirement: Applicants must be 35 years old or younger at the time of application.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Nationality: Applicants must be nationals of a member state of the Economic Commission for Africa.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Educational Qualifications: Applicants must have graduated before July 1, 2024, with either a master\u2019s degree, a doctorate, or an equivalent qualification.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Thematic Interest: Applicants should have an interest in one or more of the identified thematic areas.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Project Work: The selected candidate will work on a predefined project aimed at contributing to specific aspects of the work program within the mentoring Division, Sub-Regional Office, or ECA Centres, as well as participate in other related activities.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Meeting Participation: The selected candidate should participate in national, regional, or international meetings as assigned for professional exposure.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Research Presentation: At the end of the assignment, the selected candidate must submit and present a peer-reviewed research paper at a seminar.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Alumni Engagement: The selected candidate will join an alumni association of ECA Fellows and become a member of the practicing international development \u201ccommunity of practice.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Benefits:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The selected Fellows will receive a one-off settling-in grant of USD 3,000 (for fellows recruited from outside of the duty station) and a monthly stipend of USD 3,000 each for the duration of the fellowship.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The fellowship is to last 6 months but can be extended by another 6 months.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>How to Apply?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.uneca.org\/node\/423\">CLICK HERE TO APPLY<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Deadline:<\/strong> August 17, 2024<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The United Nations Economic Fellowship aims to provide practical, on-the-job experience to the young professionals in their early and middle<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":22851,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"colormag_page_container_layout":"default_layout","colormag_page_sidebar_layout":"default_layout","footnotes":""},"categories":[41],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-22850","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-fellowship"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.3 -
