Many of her students are international, as well as U.S. citizens from secondary schools outside the United States, who bring a unique perspective to our community of changemakers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>American University will challenge you intellectually and provide you with access to one of the most international cities in the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Requirements:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Be an international student who have overcome various obstacles and challenges as well as those from diverse and underrepresented global and socioeconomic backgrounds.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A minimum 3.8 GPA equivalent out of 4.0 GPA (or in the top 10% of graduating class) for 9th-12th grades.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A demonstrated commitment to leadership, volunteerism, community service, and to advancing the needs of people in their home country.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Students with<strong>\u00a0one<\/strong>\u00a0of the following:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>95+ TOEFL iBT (all subscores must be 20 or above)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Sub-scores of 24+ on the paper-based TOEFL (Taken after May 31, 2023)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>7.0+ IELTS (all subscores must be 6.0 or above)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>33 minimum SAT Reading subscore<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>29 minimum ACT English<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>65 minimum PTE<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>125+ Duolingo (all subscores must be 115\u00a0or above)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Cambridge Assessment English score of 185\u00a0or higher. Each sub-score must be 169 or higher.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Students who are still enrolled in secondary\/high school and graduating by June 2025.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Important: Students in the IB system should plan to graduate with a full IB diploma with at least 3 HL subjects. Students studying in the British A-Levels system must complete at least 3 A levels and finish 13 years of study before August 2025.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Duration and Reward<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The AU EGL scholarship covers all billable AU expenses (full tuition, room, and board) for\u00a0one\u00a0international student who will need a non-immigrant visa (preferably an F-1 or J-1 student visa) to study in the United States.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The scholarship does\u00a0not\u00a0cover non-billable expenses such as mandatory health insurance, books, airline tickets, taxes, and miscellaneous expenses (approximately U.S.$4,000 per year).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>How To Apply?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.american.edu\/admissions\/international\/au-egls-apply.cfm\">CLICK HERE TO APPLY<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Deadline: <\/strong>December 1, 2024<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The American University Emerging Global Leader Scholarship promotes educational access and opportunity, enhancing international diversity and covers all expenses.
