The African Continental Free Trade Area \u2013 AfCFTA is the world\u2019s largest free trade area bringing together the 55 countries of the African Union (AU) and eight (8) Regional Economic Communities (RECs). The overall mandate of the AfCFTA is to create a single continental market with a population of about 1.3 billion people and a combined GDP of approximately US$ 3.4 trillion.  The aim is to enable the free flow of goods and services across the continent and boost the trading position of Africa in the global market.\u202f<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The internship program is designed to bring highly qualified and motivated students with diverse backgrounds into the Secretariat to work on projects linked to the Strategic Orientations of the Secretariat and to support the corporate functions of the Secretariat. Its main goal is to give successful candidates the opportunity to improve their analytical and technical skills in an international environment. The program is primarily educational and aims to expose participants (interns) to the workings of the AfCFTA at an early stage and strengthen their personal and early professional skills. It will provide an avenue for participants to gain an exposure and some hands-on experience in various applicable fields, while learning in a multi-cultural environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Interns will be deployed to assist in providing administrative and technical support for effective implementation of AfCFTA programmes, projects and activities in its below Department\/Directorates: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2013 Protocol Division
\u2013 Communications Division
\u2013 Conferences and Languages Division
\u2013 Directorate of Trade in Goods and Competition
\u2013 Directorate of Customs
\u2013 Directorate of Trade in Services, Investment, IPR and Digital Trade
\u2013 Directorate of Dispute Settlement and Legal Affairs
\u2013 Directorate of Administration of Human Resources Management\/IT Unit
\u2013 Directorate of Finance
\u2013 Directorate \u2013 Institutional Matters & Programme Coordination<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Eligibility Criteria:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

1.    Be nationals of a Member State of the African Union and residing in Ghana.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2.    Final year students who are enrolled on full-time basis on a fully accredited degree program in a recognized public or private institution of higher learning in any of the following areas: Project\/Program Management, Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E), Business Administration, Management or related fields.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3.    Full availability for a minimum of three months, being the duration of the program 
4.    Proficiency in one of the AU official working languages (French, English, Portuguese, Arabic, Kiswahili and Spanish) and fluency in another AU language(s) is an added advantage.
5.    Applicants should possess a high level of quantitative and IT skills 
6.    Must possess very good ICT skills and be familiar with Microsoft Office suite
7.    Applicants should be capable and willing to work in a multicultural and international team environment
8.    Applicants should be committed to upholding and adhering to the rules and values of the Institution for the duration of the program
