{"id":23375,"date":"2024-08-16T13:05:11","date_gmt":"2024-08-16T13:05:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/presspay.ng\/news\/?p=23375"},"modified":"2024-08-16T13:05:13","modified_gmt":"2024-08-16T13:05:13","slug":"call-for-applications-african-development-bank-japan-africa-dream-scholarship-2025-fully-funded","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/presspay.ng\/news\/call-for-applications-african-development-bank-japan-africa-dream-scholarship-2025-fully-funded\/","title":{"rendered":"Call For Applications: African Development Bank-Japan Africa Dream Scholarship 2025 (Fully-funded)"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>This scholarship is open to applicants from African Development Bank member countries with relevant professional experience and a history of supporting their countries\u2019 development efforts who are applying to a graduate degree program in energy development and related disciplines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Japan Africa Dream Scholarship (JADS) is a capacity-building program by the African Development Bank and the Government of Japan. The overarching goal of the African Development Bank and the Government of Japan is to enhance human resources capacity in Africa, in keeping with the Bank\u2019s High 5 strategic priorities, namely Feed Africa, Light up and power Africa, Industrialize Africa, Integrate Africa, and Improve the quality of life of the people of Africa. These priorities are also in line with key Japanese development assistance initiatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Eligibility Criteria:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Be a national of an AfDB member country.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Be 35 years old or less.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Have a bachelor\u2019s degree (or equivalent degree) bachelor\u2019s degree (or equivalent degree) in energy, agriculture, health, environmental sustainability, engineering studies or related areas with excellent academic records, relevant professional experience and a history of supporting your country\u2019s development efforts.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Have at least 1 year of paid employment in your home country or in other African countries after receiving your Bachelor\u2019s (or equivalent degree) within the past 3 years.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Not be living or working outside of your home country.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Not already be enrolled in a graduate degree program.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Not be an Executive Director, his\/her alternate, and\/or staff of all types of appointments of the African Development Bank Group or a close relative of the aforementioned by blood or adoption with the term \u201cclose relative\u201d defined as: Mother, Father, Sister, Half-sister, Brother, Half-brother, Son, Daughter, Aunt, Uncle, Niece, or Nephew.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Agree to return to your home country to contribute to its economic and social development after completion of studies under the program.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Award<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Full tuition<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>140,000 JPY per month for living expenses (amount subject to change)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Economy class air travel between the home country and APU at the beginning and end of the program<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Application Process<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Request to be considered for this scholarship within the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/admissions.apu.ac.jp\/graduate\/apply_online\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">APU Online Application<\/a>&nbsp;and submit the application by&nbsp;September 16, 2024&nbsp;(for April 2025 enrollment) or&nbsp;January 10, 2025&nbsp;(for September 2025 enrollment).
