{"id":25304,"date":"2024-10-31T16:14:45","date_gmt":"2024-10-31T16:14:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/presspay.ng\/news\/?p=25304"},"modified":"2024-10-31T16:14:48","modified_gmt":"2024-10-31T16:14:48","slug":"2025-mo-ibrahim-foundation-soas-scholarships-at-university-of-london-for-africans-fully-funded","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/presspay.ng\/news\/2025-mo-ibrahim-foundation-soas-scholarships-at-university-of-london-for-africans-fully-funded\/","title":{"rendered":"2025 Mo Ibrahim Foundation SOAS Scholarships at University of London for Africans (Fully Funded"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Mo Ibrahim Foundation University SOAS Scholarship is a fully funded opportunity at the University of London in the United Kingdom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Centre of African Studies at SOAS, University of London, is pleased to announce the extension of the Governance for Development in Africa Initiative, funded by the Mo Ibrahim Foundation, for another three years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Mo Ibrahim Foundation has generously provided SOAS with scholarships covering full tuition and \u00a35,000 every year for African students undertaking a full-time PhD and Masters programme in the field of Governance for Development in Africa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Requirements:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Candidates\u00a0must be domiciled (or permanent residents) in an African country.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Preference will be given to scholarship candidates living in Sub-Saharan Africa.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The eligible\u00a0PhD are only those within the following departments:<ul><li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.soas.ac.uk\/study\/areas-study\/development-studies\">Development Studies<\/a><\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.soas.ac.uk\/study\/areas-study\/law\">Law<\/a><\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.soas.ac.uk\/study\/areas-study\/economics\">Economics<\/a><\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.soas.ac.uk\/study\/areas-study\/politics-and-international-studies\">International Relations\/Politics<\/a><\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.soas.ac.uk\/cisd\/\">CISD (Centre for International Studies and Diplomacy)<\/a><\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.soas.ac.uk\/study\/areas-study\/finance-and-management\">DEFIMS (Department\u00a0for Financial and Management Studies)<\/a><\/li><li>Distance Learning:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.soas.ac.uk\/about\/research-centres\/centre-financial-and-management-studies\">Centre for Financial and Management Studies (CEFIMS)<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.soas.ac.uk\/distancelearning\/\">DEFIMS<\/a><\/li><\/ul>Once the place is secured, the applicants can apply for the scholarship.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Selection Criteria:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Candidates will be assessed on academic merit by a panel consisting of SOAS academic members. The assessment of your application will be based on the information in your scholarship application.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Duration and Reward<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>PhD:\u00a0The scholarship is on a part?present form and it provides for fees for three years.
