{"id":25386,"date":"2024-11-07T13:33:12","date_gmt":"2024-11-07T13:33:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/presspay.ng\/news\/?p=25386"},"modified":"2024-11-07T13:33:15","modified_gmt":"2024-11-07T13:33:15","slug":"2025-schlumberger-foundation-fellowship-faculty-for-the-future-50000-annual-grant-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/presspay.ng\/news\/2025-schlumberger-foundation-fellowship-faculty-for-the-future-50000-annual-grant-2\/","title":{"rendered":"2025 Schlumberger Foundation Fellowship (Faculty For The Future) ($50,000 Annual Grant)"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The Schlumberger Foundation Faculty Fellowship focuses on developing and emerging countries where women are underrepresented in STEM disciplines.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Schlumberger Foundation Faculty For The Future Fellowship offers an annual grant of $50,000 per year to women from developing and emerging economies to pursue PhD or Post-doctoral research in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) fields at leading universities worldwide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Details:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Faculty for the Future fellowships are awarded to women from developing and emerging economies who are preparing for PhD or post-doctoral study in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) disciplines to pursue advanced graduate study at top universities in their disciplines abroad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Launched by the SLB Foundation in 2004, Faculty for the Future has grown to become a community of 863 women from 90 countries. The long-term goal of the Faculty for the Future program is to generate conditions that result in more women pursuing scientific disciplines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Faculty for the Future does not draw on one single source or list but constitutes its eligible country list from a number of sources which allows incorporation of development status with regard to science, gender, and education for example.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Requirements:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Are a female and are a citizen of a developing country or emerging economy where women are underrepresented in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) disciplines*.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Are not eligible to apply if you hold dual citizenship of which one is the citizenship of a developed country.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>(N.B. If you have been awarded a Faculty for the Future grant and after the award you obtain citizenship of a developed country, the grant will be discontinued as of the date of such additional citizenship);<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Are preparing for a PhD degree or post-doctoral research in a STEM discipline? The Faculty for the Future program does not fund Master level studies; \u2013 are enrolled, admitted or<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Have applied to a host university\/research institute abroad (applications are no longer accepted where a candidate has not yet applied to a university).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If you are applying for a sandwich course the final degree must be awarded by the Host University abroad or jointly (i.e., but not solely from the home country university);<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Hold an excellent academic record;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Are willing to go back to your home country or region upon completion of your studies to contribute to its socio-economic development;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Have a proven record of teaching experience in your home country and can demonstrate your commitment to going back home to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>i) an academic or research position in a STEM faculty;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>ii) and\/or using your knowledge to become a STEM entrepreneur to help resolve regional challenges in your local community\/region;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>iii) and\/or demonstrating leadership by contributing to the public sector using your scientific skills to help provide evidence-based support for STEM policy making, including topics of gender representation; SLB-Private<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Can demonstrate leadership skills, active community outreach and have a track record in encouraging girls and women into STEM.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you do not meet the above criteria, please do not apply for a grant, as your application will not be retained in the selection process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Duration and Reward<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The Schlumberger Foundation Faculty for the Future Fellowship 2025-2026 offers financial support to international students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It provides a maximum scholarship of USD 50,000 per year for PhD candidates and up to USD 40,000 per year for Post-doctoral researchers, with the possibility of renewal until the completion of their studies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Selection Criteria<\/strong>:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Academic performance;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Quality of references;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Quality of host country university;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Level of commitment to return to home country;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Commitment to teaching, STEM entrepreneurship or policy-making;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Relevance of research to home country;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Commitment to inspiring girls and women into STEM.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>How To Apply?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Applications are only accepted through the online system.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Interested and qualified applicants should click on the \u201cCLICK HERE TO APPLY\u201d button to proceed with the application.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>New applications will be accepted from September 2nd to November 8th, 2024 for the 2025 Fellowships (the deadline for reference letters is November 15th, 2024).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>CLICK\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.fftf.slb.com\/\">HERE<\/a>\u00a0TO APPLY<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Schlumberger Foundation Faculty Fellowship focuses on developing and emerging countries where women are underrepresented in STEM disciplines.&nbsp; The Schlumberger<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":19084,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"colormag_page_container_layout":"default_layout","colormag_page_sidebar_layout":"default_layout","footnotes":""},"categories":[41],"tags":[66,198,1087,1075],"class_list":["post-25386","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-fellowship","tag-fellowship","tag-grant","tag-schlumberger","tag-stem"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.4 -
