{"id":25553,"date":"2024-11-12T14:21:30","date_gmt":"2024-11-12T14:21:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/presspay.ng\/news\/?p=25553"},"modified":"2024-11-12T14:21:33","modified_gmt":"2024-11-12T14:21:33","slug":"climate-adaptation-and-resilience-clare-programme-research-for-impact-r4i-opportunities-fund","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/presspay.ng\/news\/climate-adaptation-and-resilience-clare-programme-research-for-impact-r4i-opportunities-fund\/","title":{"rendered":"Climate Adaptation and Resilience (CLARE) programme: Research for Impact (R4I) opportunities fund"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The FCDO invites short-term, small-scale requests to support the needs of decision-makers to adapt to climate change through the use of existing research and evidence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Climate Adaptation and Resilience (CLARE) programme has launched a&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/guidance\/climate-adaptation-and-resilience-clare-programme\">Research 4 Impact opportunities fund<\/a>&nbsp;that responds to short-term, small-scale requests (around \u00a335,000) from decision makers by using existing evidence to meet local adaptation priorities. The funds are not available for conducting new primary research.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Opportunities will be scoped directly with in-country stakeholders and draw on local expertise to support interventions that align with at least one of&nbsp;CLARE&nbsp;themes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/clareprogramme.org\/clare_theme\/developing-in-a-changing-climate\/\">developing in a changing climate<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/clareprogramme.org\/clare_theme\/risk-informed-early-action\/\">risk-informed early action<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/clareprogramme.org\/clare_theme\/understanding-climate-risk\/\">understanding climate risk<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>We are accepting submissions on a rolling basis until 31 March 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"what-the-fund-will-achieve\"><strong>What the fund will achieve<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Past adaptation and resilience research programmes have generated a lot of insightful and useful data, tools, and approaches and there is great potential for this research to be directed towards transformative outcomes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>CLARE&nbsp;R4I&nbsp;will repurpose the existing evidence to fund small-scale interventions. This will enable this research to further support local communities address climate shocks and adapt to the long-term impacts of a changing climate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Requirements:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The fund is open to&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.oecd.org\/en\/topics\/oda-eligibility-and-conditions\/dac-list-of-oda-recipients.html#oda-recipients-list\">Official Development Assistance (<abbr title=\"Official Development Assistance\">ODA<\/abbr>)-eligible countries<\/a>&nbsp;in Africa, Asia-Pacific and Overseas Territories.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The fund is designed to support the needs of government, quasi-government agencies, non-government organisations, and civil society organisations. It must align to at least&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/guidance\/climate-adaptation-and-resilience-clare-programme#how-the-fund-works\">one of&nbsp;<abbr title=\"Climate Adaptation and Resilience programme\">CLARE<\/abbr>\u2019s 3 themes<\/a>&nbsp;and the work must be undertaken in Africa or Asia-Pacific and Overseas Territories.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The resources from the&nbsp;CLARE&nbsp;R4I&nbsp;opportunities fund must make use of existing evidence or research, and are therefore not available for conducting new primary research.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Funded interventions should range from 15,000 to 75,000 Canadian dollars or \u00a38,000 to \u00a342,000 (pounds sterling) and must be designed to be completed within a 12-month timeframe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We will scope demand through knowledge brokering processes, and map available research. The&nbsp;R4I&nbsp;Hub will then source and procure the services of researchers, technical experts and others, to provide services that address qualifying organisations\u2019 needs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We will draw service providers from a diverse roster of experts established by the&nbsp;R4I&nbsp;Hub for this purpose.
