{"id":2640,"date":"2022-07-01T15:30:11","date_gmt":"2022-07-01T15:30:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/presspay.ng\/news\/?p=2640"},"modified":"2022-07-01T15:30:14","modified_gmt":"2022-07-01T15:30:14","slug":"seeking-readers-for-2023-fellowship-applications","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/presspay.ng\/news\/seeking-readers-for-2023-fellowship-applications\/","title":{"rendered":"Seeking Readers for 2023 Fellowship Applications"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The U.S. Department of State and IREX seek academic, professional, and regional experts to read and score&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.mandelawashingtonfellowship.org\/apply\/\">applications for the 2023 Mandela Washington Fellowship<\/a>.&nbsp; Over the first eight years of the Fellowship, the program received nearly 300,000 applications from 49 sub-Saharan African countries for 5,800 Fellow slots. &nbsp;Your talents and expertise in helping score our high volume of applications are greatly appreciated!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Responsibilities and Reading Period<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Readers will be responsible for evaluating program applications based on set guidelines and a scoring rubric. &nbsp;This is a great volunteer professional development and r\u00e9sum\u00e9 -building opportunity for professionals or degree-seeking individuals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The reading period will begin on&nbsp;<strong>September 14, 2022<\/strong>, and will comprise up to three separate reading phases, each lasting approximately two weeks, from mid-September through early November.&nbsp; Selected readers will be assigned to one of the reading phases to review approximately 40 applications.&nbsp; Each application takes about 10-15 minutes to read and score; the total time commitment is estimated at 10 hours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Eligibility<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Ideal readers are academics and\/or professionals with expertise in one or more of the Fellowship\u2019s thematic areas (business, civic engagement, or public management), have experience working in Africa, or experience working on sub-Saharan African issues.
