The Niger State government has prohibited the collection of PTA fees in all public primary and secondary schools across the state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Governor Muhammed Umaru Bago announced the ban during a visit to Sarkin Pawa in Munya LGA, explaining that the decision aims to boost school enrollment and reduce the number of out-of-school children in the state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As part of the measures, the governor directed that students in public schools should be allowed to wear regular clothing instead of mandatory uniforms, following complaints from parents about the high cost of uniforms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Governor Bago stated that the government would now handle the payment of PTA fees for all schools to ease the financial burden on parents and guardians.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He warned school headmasters and principals to desist from collecting these fees, emphasizing that violators would face sanctions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additionally, the governor urged parents to prioritize their children’s education, particularly for the girl child, stressing that uniforms should not be a barrier to school attendance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
