Tiwa Savage had studied Business Administration at the University of Kent before moving on to study music at the Berklee College of Music<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In a statement by the university, Tiwa Savage <em>\u201cwill be made Doctor of Music in recognition of her inspirational and international career in music.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Other awardees at the event include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Professor Dr. Funke Abimbola, MBE, a C-suite Diversity, Equity &amp; Inclusion Leader, Healthcare executive, and Corporate Lawyer who will also be \u201cmade Doctor of Laws<\/em> for her inspirational career as a senior solicitor and her extensive voluntary work as a mentor and campaigner\u201d on the 14th of July in Cantebury<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Kent alumnus and Emeritus Professor Abdulrazak Gurnah who will be conferred with a Doctor of Letters<\/em> for his distinguished contribution to literature and his reflections and portrayal of the effects of colonialism, the theme of the refugee\u2019s disruption, and the human experiences of a cross-continental journey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 <em>Susan Wanless, \u2013 Doctor of Music<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 <em>Dr. Howard Leicester \u2013 Doctor of Science<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022<em> Professor Kevin Hylton \u2013 Doctor of Science<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 <em>Mark Lane \u2013 Doctor of the University<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 <em>Mark Thomas \u2013 Doctor of Arts<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 <em>Dame Stephanie Shirley \u2013 Doctor of the University<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 <em>Kent alumnus Kush Kanodia \u2013\u00a0 Doctor of Science<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Congratulations to all the awardees.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Multiple award winning Nigerian Singer, Tiwa Savage, is set to receive an honorary doctorate degree from her alma mater,<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":2711,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"colormag_page_container_layout":"default_layout","colormag_page_sidebar_layout":"default_layout","footnotes":""},"categories":[1],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-2714","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-uncategorized"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.3 -
