{"id":28149,"date":"2025-03-14T15:20:49","date_gmt":"2025-03-14T15:20:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/presspay.ng\/news\/?p=28149"},"modified":"2025-03-14T15:20:52","modified_gmt":"2025-03-14T15:20:52","slug":"50000-unesco-prize-for-girls-and-women-education-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/presspay.ng\/news\/50000-unesco-prize-for-girls-and-women-education-2\/","title":{"rendered":"$50,000 UNESCO Prize for Girls and Women Education"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The UNESCO Prize for Girls and Women is an annual $50,000 award aimed at improving and promoting the educational prospects of girls and women and in turn, the quality of their lives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The UNESCO Prize for Girls\u2019 and Women\u2019s Education honours outstanding and innovative contributions made by individuals, institutions, and organizations to advance\u00a0girls\u2019 and women\u2019s education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Eligibility Criteria:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Be nominated by the dedicated online platform in English or French by a\u00a0National Commission\u00a0or\u00a0Permanent Delegation to UNESCO\u00a0of the concerned Member State, or by an\u00a0NGO in official partnership with UNESCO.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Benefits:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The UNESCO Prize is a $50,000 award conferred annually to two laureates and consists of an award of\u00a0each to help further their work in the area of girls\u2019 and women\u2019s education.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>How to Apply?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Nomination Process for the UNESCO Prize for Girls<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Who can nominate?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Governments of UNESCO Member States via their Permanent Delegations to UNESCO and Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) in official partnership with UNESCO can make up to 3 nominations. Self-nominations are not accepted.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Who can be nominated?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Individuals, institutions, or organizations advancing girls\u2019 and women\u2019s education are eligible for nomination.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Nominations must focus on an established project or programme of the candidate, which has been running for at least two years, and meets the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/unesdoc.unesco.org\/ark:\/48223\/pf0000384642\">selection criteria<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>How to be nominated?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Self-nominations are not accepted.
