This competition aims to encourage innovative thinking and provide a platform for young economists to contribute to the policy dialogue in the MENA region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Eligibility Criteria:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Post-graduate students<\/strong>: Defined as individuals who have completed an undergraduate degree and are currently enrolled in a master\u2019s or doctoral program in economics or a related field.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Citizenship<\/strong><sup><strong>1<\/strong><\/sup>: Participants must be citizens of one of MENA countries. The IMF\u2019s MENA region includes the following countries and territories: Algeria, Bahrain, Djibouti, Egypt, Islamic Republic of Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Mauritania, Morocco, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, Sudan, Syrian Arab Republic, Tunisia, the United Arab Emirates, West Bank and Gaza, and Yemen.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Enrollment<\/strong>: Participants must be enrolled at an institution of higher education worldwide.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Submission Requirements<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Language of submissions<\/strong>: English<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Research Summary<\/strong>: A 3-page single-spaced summary of a research project or thesis involving macroeconomic policy topics relevant to the&nbsp;MENA&nbsp;region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Certification<\/strong>: A letter from the student registrar\u2019s office certifying the participant\u2019s enrollment as a post-graduate student at their university.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Recommendation Letter from the Professor<\/strong>&nbsp;on the University letterhead with contact name and e-mail address of the professor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Format<\/strong>: Submissions must be in PDF format and include the participant\u2019s name, university, and contact information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Prizes<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Three winning students will be invited to participate in a research conference in Egypt in May 2025. More information on the conference will be shared soon.
