By introducing the ETT Fellows to cutting edge student-focused teaching methodologies the ETT strives to foster innovation in science and engineering education in tertiary academic institutions in Africa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Requirements<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>This semester-long fellowship is designed for engineering professors currently teaching at local universities in Nigeria who have recently completed their Ph.D.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Program objectives:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Expose junior African professors to MIT\u2019s advanced, problem-solving pedagogical methods\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Encourage the ETT fellows to become change-agents<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Allow the ETT fellows to expand their professional network, including MIT faculty with a deep interest in emerging economies.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>During their semester at MIT, the ETT fellows:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Observe at least 2 MIT courses in their own disciplines\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Take a curriculum design course and implement research-based instructional design principles in their courses<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Discuss &amp; explore curricular enrichment &amp; reform through both formal and informal interaction with the MIT community<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Participate in numerous activities to develop critical change-agent skills.
