You can receive\u00a0up to $250 per year, and the scholarship can be\u00a0renewed for up to four years, with a total award of\u00a0<strong>$1,000<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This award honours\u00a0Providence Ebubechi Napoleon (n\u00e9e Okoye)\u00a0and helps students who show\u00a0<em>strong academics, leadership, and a heart for service<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Eligibility Criteria:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>You are\u00a0<strong>Black or African<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You live in and study in an\u00a0<strong>English-speaking African country<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You are\u00a0<strong>accepted to<\/strong>\u00a0or currently enrolled in an\u00a0<strong>undergraduate programme<\/strong>\u00a0at a recognised university.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Eligible countries include Nigeria, Kenya, Ghana, and others where English is the main language of instruction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Benefits:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Up to $250 each year<\/strong>, renewable for\u00a0<strong>four years<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A total award of\u00a0<strong>$1,000<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Money for\u00a0<strong>tuition<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>room<\/strong>, or\u00a0<strong>board<\/strong>\u00a0(school fees, housing, or meals).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>To continue receiving the scholarship each year, you must:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Keep\u00a0<strong>good grades<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Show\u00a0<strong>positive behaviour<\/strong>\u00a0at university and in your community.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Send in an\u00a0<strong>updated academic transcript<\/strong>\u00a0and a short\u00a0<strong>progress report<\/strong>\u00a0every year.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Requirements:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>One recommendation letter<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>From a\u00a0<strong>teacher<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>professor<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>community leader<\/strong>, or\u00a0<strong>church leader<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Proof of enrolment<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A document that confirms you are accepted to or currently studying in an undergraduate course.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Academic transcript<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Your most recent\u00a0<strong>school or university report<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Personal essay (500\u2013750 words)<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Answer this question: <em>\u201cHow do you hope to create a legacy of compassion, faith, and dedication through your education, career, and personal life?\u201d<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Resume or CV (optional)<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A short list of your\u00a0<strong>achievements<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>leadership experience<\/strong>, and\u00a0<strong>community work<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Deadline: <\/strong>\u00a023th May 2025<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/providencememorial.org\/providence-memorial-undergraduate-scholarship\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Apply for the Providence Memorial Undergraduate Scholarship<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The\u00a0Providence Memorial Undergraduate Scholarship\u00a0supports\u00a0Black and African students\u00a0studying in\u00a0English-speaking African countries.
