Ajayi Crowther University (ACU), Oyo, has reached another academic milestone \u2014 earning full accreditation from the National Universities Commission (NUC) for its Nursing programme and eight additional academic courses across five faculties.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This development was confirmed following an NUC accreditation visit to the university in October and November 2024. The exercise, in line with Section 10(1) of the Education Act CAP E3, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria 2004, allows NUC to assess and accredit academic programmes based on national minimum academic standards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a letter signed by the Acting Director of Accreditation, Mr. Abraham Chundusu, on behalf of NUC’s Executive Secretary, Prof. Abdullahi Ribadu, the commission approved full accreditation for the following courses:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2705 Nursing
\u2705 Environmental Health Science
\u2705 Christian Religious Studies
\u2705 History and International Studies
\u2705 Music
\u2705 Performing Arts
\u2705 Law
\u2705 Mathematics
\u2705 Statistics<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition, the university\u2019s Master of Business Administration (MBA) programme also received full accreditation \u2014 a significant boost to ACU\u2019s postgraduate offerings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reacting to the achievement, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Timothy Adebayo expressed appreciation to the NUC for its commitment to upholding quality education across Nigerian universities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis outcome reflects our commitment to academic excellence and integrity. On behalf of the University Senate and the Governing Council, I thank NUC for its transparent accreditation process,\u201d Prof. Adebayo said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

He also commended the efforts of staff and students in maintaining high academic standards, noting that the new accreditations would enhance the university\u2019s reputation as a center for world-class education and research.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For prospective students and parents, this accreditation offers assurance that ACU delivers quality, approved academic content. It also means graduates from these departments will be well-positioned for further studies and employment both locally and globally.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
