The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) is set to release the results of the rescheduled Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) today, Wednesday<\/strong>. This follows a weekend-long make-up exam held from Friday through Monday<\/strong> for candidates affected by technical and administrative issues during the initial UTME.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

More than 1.9 million students<\/strong> took part in the original UTME, but the outcome left many disappointed and confused \u2014 with over 1.5 million candidates scoring below 200<\/strong> out of 400. The poor performance sparked widespread concern and led to nationwide calls for transparency and accountability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Complaints flooded in from students, parents, and education stakeholders, prompting JAMB to investigate. According to findings, the challenges stemmed from a combination of human errors and technical glitches<\/strong>, particularly affecting exam centres in Lagos and several Southeastern states<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a rare and emotional moment last week, JAMB Registrar, Professor Ishaq Oloyede<\/strong>, publicly apologised for the issues. Fighting back tears, he expressed deep regret and reassured Nigerians that the affected students would not be left behind \u2014 hence the resit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
