However, its origin dates back to 2003, when Rev. Fr. Prof. Stan Ani envisioned a world-class university that would transform education in Nigeria. Although he passed away before the dream became reality, his vision was kept alive by Sir Chinedu Anih, who led the efforts to bring the university to life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"615\" src=\"https:\/\/presspay.ng\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/CCU-Accredited-Courses.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-29737\" srcset=\"https:\/\/presspay.ng\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/CCU-Accredited-Courses.jpeg 1024w, https:\/\/presspay.ng\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/CCU-Accredited-Courses-300x180.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/presspay.ng\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/CCU-Accredited-Courses-768x461.jpeg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>CCU started with just 81 students, 10 academic programmes, and two faculties. Today, it offers a wide range of undergraduate courses across growing faculties, including Natural &amp; Applied Sciences, Arts, Social &amp; Management Sciences, and Education. The university is recognised for its ICT-enabled learning, small class sizes, and early adoption of virtual learning platforms\u2014highlighted by its Southeast-first virtual matriculation ceremony.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The university\u2019s pioneer Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Malachy Okwueze, and current Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Afam Icha\u2011Ituma, have both contributed to the institution\u2019s strong academic foundation and its growing reputation.
