The scholarship is merit-based and open to full-time undergraduate students pursuing degrees in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics), Medicine, and Allied Medical Sciences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Under this program, one eligible student will be selected from each of the 14 Tiv-speaking Local Government Areas in Benue State, as well as one qualified student each from Taraba State and Nasarawa State.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>MUTA Education Scholarship Program \u2013 Benefits<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The MUTA Education Committee intends to award up to sixteen (16) scholarships for the 2026\/2027 academic year. The value of each scholarship will be determined and announced upon completion of the selection process. Award funds may be applied toward tuition, academic fees, research-related expenses, or other costs directly associated with the recipient\u2019s undergraduate studies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Requirements for the MUTA Education Scholarship Program<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>To be eligible for consideration, applicants must:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Be currently enrolled as an undergraduate student in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics), Medicine, or an Allied Medical discipline<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>3.5 on a 5.0 scale (equivalent to a Second Class Upper), or<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>3.0 on a 4.0 scale<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Important Note:<br>Applicants who do not meet the stated minimum CGPA requirement will not be considered, regardless of their relative ranking within their Local Government Area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Selection Process<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>All eligible applications will be evaluated using the following weighted criteria:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Academic performance (CGPA): 50%<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Quality and strength of the personal statement: 40%<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Community service and involvement: 10%<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Applications containing false or misleading information will be automatically disqualified.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Completed application forms, together with all required supporting documents, must be submitted to the Committee no later than 11:59 PM on Wednesday, April 15, 2026 (US EST, GMT\u20135).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Notification and Award Presentation<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Successful applicants will be notified via email. Individual notifications will not be sent to applicants who are not selected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The names of scholarship recipients will be published on the official MUTA website (<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.muta.org\">www.muta.org<\/a><\/strong>) and shared on MUTA Education\u2019s social media platforms during the second or third week of June. Applicants are advised to regularly monitor these channels for updates on their application status.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Scholarship awards will be formally presented at a ceremony scheduled for July or August 2026, with the exact date to be communicated in due course.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Application Documents<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"padding-top:0;padding-bottom:0\">Applicants must submit the following documents as part of their application:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Personal Statement:<br>A two-page, double-spaced essay explaining why you merit the scholarship. The statement should address your academic background and achievements, involvement in community service, career aspirations, and financial need.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Certificate of Origin:<br>An official document issued by the applicant\u2019s State or Local Government Area confirming origin.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>CGPA Certification Form:<br>Applicants must download the CGPA verification form and have it completed and signed by the Academic Officer or Head of Department of their institution.
