She is the sixth of seven children.\u00a0Chidinma grew up with a disciplinarian father and began singing at the age of six. When she was 10 years old, she joined her church&#8217;s choir.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Chidinma attended primary and secondary school in Ketu before relocating to Ikorodu with her family. She worked as a business promoter in Lagos prior to auditioning for the third season of\u00a0<em>Project Fame West Africa<\/em>. Chidinma wanted to study mass communication but ended up attaining a sociology degree from the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/University_of_Lagos\">University of Lagos<\/a>.\u00a0Chidinma initially declined her admission to the University of Lagos due to her advancement in\u00a0<em>Project Fame West Africa<\/em>. In an interview with\u00a0<em><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/YNaija\">YNaija<\/a><\/em>, she said she has always taken school seriously and her decision to enroll at Unilag was inevitable. She also said music wasn&#8217;t always on her agenda, but decided to give it a try after winning the music competition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After dying her hair red and getting a mohawk, people started perceiving her as a good girl gone bad. In an interview posted on the\u00a0<em><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Independent_Nigeria\">Daily Independent<\/a><\/em>\u00a0website, Chidinma said she is still the same and that she&#8217;s evolving and growing as a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Musician\">musician<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>True to her words, Chidinma transitioned into the Gospel Music Industry after she was signed by Eezee Conceptz, a top gospel producing agency <strong>Chidinma Ekile<\/strong>\u00a0(born 2 May 1991), known professionally as\u00a0<strong>Chidinma<\/strong>, is a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Nigerians\">Nigerian<\/a>\u00a0gospel singer and songwriter.\u00a0In 2010, she rose to stardom after winning the third season of\u00a0<em><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Project_Fame_West_Africa\">Project Fame West Africa<\/a><\/em>.
