{"id":4518,"date":"2022-09-05T16:31:17","date_gmt":"2022-09-05T16:31:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/presspay.ng\/news\/?p=4518"},"modified":"2022-09-05T16:31:20","modified_gmt":"2022-09-05T16:31:20","slug":"oau-student-establish-financial-platform-for-cross-border-payments","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/presspay.ng\/news\/oau-student-establish-financial-platform-for-cross-border-payments\/","title":{"rendered":"OAU Student Establish Financial Platform for Cross-Border Payments"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Some students of the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) have taken the bull by its horns in establishing a financial solution platform codenamed\u00a0<em><strong>Cudium<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0to solve these problems Nigerian encounter when trying to make safe, easy, fast and affordable cross-border payments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cudium acknowledges that there are a thousand and one fintech solution providers out there, however, Cudium isn\u2019t just a solution provider app, it also serves as a marketplace for the peer-to-peer trading of money <em><strong>\u2018fiat\u2019<\/strong><\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"731\" src=\"https:\/\/presspay.ng\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/Cudium-1-1024x731-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-4519\" srcset=\"https:\/\/presspay.ng\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/Cudium-1-1024x731-1.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/presspay.ng\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/Cudium-1-1024x731-1-300x214.jpg 300w, https:\/\/presspay.ng\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/Cudium-1-1024x731-1-768x548.jpg 768w, https:\/\/presspay.ng\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/Cudium-1-1024x731-1-840x600.jpg 840w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Cudium is coming out as the first payment platform with a decentralised marketplace which places the power to negotiate in the hands of the users.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Speaking with journalists at the launching of the startup on September 1st, 2022, the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Cudium, Adejumobi Abdulrahman said glowingly, <em>\u201cwe are declaring an end to the struggle and hassle of international money exchange and payments. We have identified this gap and believe no one should be bigger than the market, we are putting this as a stopgap solution.<\/em>&#8220;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is a declaration that you will be able to send, receive, convert and trade foreign currencies seamlessly as a Nigerian\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Chief Marketing Officer, Osungbade Akeem Wizeman projected that, <em>\u201cthe world saw cross border transactions grow from $29 trillion in 2019 to around $39 trillion in 2022.
