for African-founded, African-based and African-led Organisations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>AVFund is sector-agnostic and highly focused on accelerating impact.&nbsp;AVFund therefore partners with grantees across sub-Saharan&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www2.fundsforngos.org\/tag\/africa\/\">Africa<\/a>&nbsp;in the areas of&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www2.fundsforngos.org\/category\/health\/\">Health<\/a>,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www2.fundsforngos.org\/category\/education\/\">Education<\/a>,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www2.fundsforngos.org\/category\/human-rights-and-social-justice\/\">Human Rights<\/a>, Livelihoods, Technology, and Emerging Sectors with the goal of having a balanced and diverse portfolio of locally-led&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www2.fundsforngos.org\/tag\/organisations\/\">organizations<\/a>&nbsp;across sectors.&nbsp;AVFund evaluates all potential partners using criteria including Basic Eligibility, Characteristics of EarlyStage and Growth-Stage Organizations, and Factors of Organizational Resilience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Application System<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The new inclusive application system focuses on equity, ease of use, and overall reach.&nbsp;its design efforts foregrounded African Visionaries\u2019 input, desires, and experiences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Equity:&nbsp;<\/strong>&nbsp;The AVFund is committed to contributing to the equity-centered transformation of how African organizations are funded.<\/li><li><strong>Ease of Use:<\/strong>&nbsp;&nbsp;AVFund is constantly evolving and re-designing its selection process to make it more efficient, seamless, and less cumbersome for applicants.&nbsp;<\/li><li><strong>Reach:&nbsp;<\/strong>&nbsp;Our online application system makes our grantmaking process more open and inclusive by reaching a broader pipeline of organizations outside our immediate networks.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Eligibility Criteria<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>AVF invites you to apply to receive&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www2.fundsforngos.org\/tag\/funding\/\">funding<\/a>&nbsp;from the African Visionary Fund if your organization meets the following requirements:<ul><li>African-founded, African-based and African-led&nbsp;<\/li><li>Serves communities in&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www2.fundsforngos.org\/tag\/southern-africa\/\">Sub-Saharan Africa<\/a>&nbsp;only<\/li><li>Registered in its country of operations<\/li><li>Growing Board: Transitioning from founding to governing board<\/li><li>Paid staff&nbsp;<\/li><li>Perform external audits every year for the past two years<\/li><li>Basic financial management systems and processes in place<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>Other factors for consideration:<ul><li>Early-stage and growth-stage:<ul><li>Annual&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www2.fundsforngos.org\/cat\/develop-budget-project-proposal\/\">budget<\/a>&nbsp;between $200,000 \u2013 $1.2 M&nbsp;<\/li><li>Minimum 3 years of operation<\/li><li>Clear and defined model and articulation of the \u201cwhy\u201d<\/li><li>Able to communicate and measure the impact of their work<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>organizational Resilience<ul><li>Systems changes focus and understanding of the ecosystem<\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/www2.fundsforngos.org\/tag\/leadership\/\">Leadership<\/a>&nbsp;has lived experience of the problem the organization is trying to solve<\/li><li>Evidence of clear strategic direction<\/li><li>Community-driven: Deeply rooted and invested in served communities<\/li><li>Learning orientation: Leadership displays self-awareness and humility<\/li><li>Commitment to&nbsp;<a
