COP27 Funding for African Youth by\u00a0 AYM4COP: A Campaign of YOUNGO \u2013\u00a0 Financement de la COP27 pour la jeunesse africaine par AYM4COP : une campagne de YOUNGO<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Dear African Youth,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Africa Youth Mobilization for COP [AYM4COP] a campaign of YOUNGO is inviting individuals who have the intention to attend COP27 and need funding to fill this form and stand the chance of selection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u00a0Africa\u2019s high vulnerability to the impacts of climate change has been well established with the latest IPCC report echoing the clarion call for climate action now. Africa currently boasts a youth dividend; however, the youth have been underdeveloped with few opportunities available, and now the impacts of climate change compound these existing challenges. As such, many young Africans are taking action and striving to influence policies to help fight against climate change on the local and global levels. As the official constituency of the UNFCCC, YOUNGO has given the opportunity for young Africans to engage in the UNFCCC process with African youth being the second largest group in YOUNGO. Nevertheless, the participation of African youth when it comes to the annual Conference of Youth (COY) and Conference of Parties (COP) has not been proportional. This has mainly been due to limited financial support for African youth to travel for these conferences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Hence, we are excited to be providing financial support to help African youth attend COP and contribute to a united voice and action. We wish you all the best and look forward to working with those who will be selected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
